What a brave soul our Adam is.
Where did you get that, Starfish? Does everybody's copy have naked Adam except mine? I've been cheated all these years by that little shamrock. I just assumed that's what everyone saw. Wow, you Europeans have got it so good with your nude beaches and your nude Adam. What else is going on over there that I don't know about?

I believe all the American copies had Adam with a large X over him. I believe for those who are interested, Adam is not covered in U2 by U2 or U2 and I by Anton. I didn't think this forum would approve of posting that so you can check it out in private!! I will check and get back to you yooper. Adam has always said that he feels the nude body is beautiful whether it be a man or a woman. I think he felt very comfortable doing it. Well, lets just say I've seen the statue of David and Adam is just as beautiful. I really mean that. Oh, Dark Angel, I feel so old. It really hit me when you inquired about "airbrushing"! Way back in the dark ages when I was very young, there was no internet, no cell phones, and I am afraid to admit, no answering machines. Oh and the phones were rotary (that means no push buttons to dial). Scary, right!!!

OK yooper! It is extremely late here on the East coast but I could not get a good night's sleep till I was sure. You can see uncensored Adam on page 224 of Anton Corbijn's U2 & I. Anton talks about the photo briefly as well. I knew it was in one of those beautiful books. I hope you have a copy. If not, get it. It is a wonderful book for other reasons too. Oh, and how cute is that-you have a shamrock covering Adam. I have a big X over him. That X makes it seem like the photo was pornographic which is most certainly was NOT! It was a beautiful photo and at least the shamrock was better than the X! Well, sweet dreams for me now-off to sleep!!!!

Yes, I figured it might not be rated "G". Sorry about that.

I was just thinking how silly we would all look if Adam himself were viewing this! Anyway, I have one last thing to say and then I'll really try to get back to posting about the MUSIC! Yooper, I realized that the big X is on the cassette version and the cute shamrock is on the CD. I happen to have both and noticed that.

Wow... I'm away from my computer for one day and I missed
this
! My Bass Hero has his own thread...
*tries very hard to not think about Achtung photo* ... **fails**
I greatly admire the fact that he taught himself bass. I'm at that stage myself now, and I remember sitting in the car 2 years ago as "Gloria" came on. The sound through the stereo was
amazing
. His solo just knocked me out of my seat, and I suddenly knew I wanted to make that sound, and have that instrument, and be in harmony with it... Does that make any sense?! Adam puts it so much simpler. "Deep and fat and satisfying."

I step away for a day or two and just as well I didnt get round to scanning and uploading Adam in all his glory. Anyone who hasn't seen it, or who's copy has a shamrock or X, you'll just have to take our word for it. It's all there.
Anyhows, I wonder what Adam's up to now - 8.30am on a Monday morning having finished recording and awaiting the inevidable tour...... lying in bed I imagine.

No, he's online, checking out the @U2 forum and feeling very flattered that we've all taken such an interest in his, um, private life.
