They should've gone back to Sun Devil Stadium and filmed it there.  If you're gonna be nostalgic, might as well go all the way.   ;)

SDS is under construction and had capacity reduced...they took the upper deck off the end zone area.  They are pressing to be ready for football season, and the old 75,000 cap is now like 55,000-60,000 with valuable end zone seats gone.

Also, SDS is a pit...trough urinals and not enough space to walk around the concourse with vendors when full.

But it wouldn't be available anyway...and being natural grass, they would not want it being messed with during football season.  They host University of Oregon on the 23rd.  UoP has a roll out grass field.

September is far enough away, that I'm confident that you can make it happen.

Thanks! I know a lot of people are angry that the band is coming back to Phoenix again, but it'll only be my 3rd show ever (saw SOI both shows in Phoenix), so I've GOT to go. I was trying to hold out for SOE, but, hey, if they're coming, I'm going!

You guys...are the greatest! How about  nofundme instead?!!! A dangerous idea, that almost makes sense...and is NOT necessary! I love you all!!! I'll get there...don't worry. I haven't been this excited since, well since 2 years ago when this happened!

I can't say I particularly care what date they choose to do it, but I'm much more hopeful for an eventual DVD/Blu-ray from this tour.  I'd really love the ability to simply "watch the Joshua Tree", especially with the visuals on the big screen.
I agree the visuals from concert are too much to take in 2017 tour DVD would be great marketing move on U2"s part!!!!

I guess it would make some sense to film in Phoenix (thirty years later and all), but I would rather see a concert DVD for the tour filmed in Argentina or Chile.

Gotta say Central/south american audiences are just better.  They have the enthusiasm that left largely American audiences after Elevation
