I was browsing MSN earlier in my lunch break at work, and saw this from The Londoner's Diary, part of the Evening Standard newspaper.

Word has it that Bono was one of the last publishing deals struck with Ed Victor, the London literary agent, who recently passed away.  Apparently it is not being confirmed or denied by either camp.

If true, would it be an autobiography or something else eg: on the subject of poverty in Africa?

Over to you....

I wouldn't expect it to be an autobiography.  The two books he's already done, U2 By U2 and Bono On Bono were done by transcribing a verbal story and interviews respectively.  I don't see Bono sitting down and actually writing his life story unless it was done when the band ultimately calls it quits.

Bono's writing is great. I hope he does write a book, at one point.

I thought his ABC's post he randomly posted to the website a few years ago was great.  Is there other material of his out there that I'm missing?  Not counting his lyrics of course.

Every written speech he's given when he receives an award or inducts someone is brilliant.

the speech he gave to a university graduating class (can't recall which one), I didn't think was very great.  kept making the comment that no one should take advice from a rock star.

He's a great talker and a great writer. Charismatic, elegant and wonderfully evocative. I would definitely buy an autobiography and you'd know his story wouldn't descend into parody like Morrissey's who started his autobiography off writing like Dickens and ended it like Alan Partridge.
