AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND
« on: July 07, 2017, 12:33:03 AM »
Seriously why AGAIN has Australia and New Zealand missed out .
It is now 7 YEARS since U2 toured , what have we done to deserve this ?
The Joshua Tree was dedicated to a New Zealander and they sing one tree hill  on the current tour , yet they wouldnot even go to New Zealand and play ?????
Faithful fans here in Australia and New Zealand yet they keep doing this to us , it is crap and feels like a kick in the guts  !

Both NZ & Australia are big places.

U2 either cover them adequately or don't cover them at all. To cover them adequately will surely put another 2 months onto TJT tour.

At the moment it's not too late to extend the tour again. So you never know.

At least if they do NZ and Aus it gives them another few months to "finish" SoE.

i'm starting to lose hope with every passing week. If they were gonna come down for TJT, i'm guessin it'd have to be by Nov, Dec to fit the whole '30' years anniversary. Concerts would need to be announced soon.
Can't wait to hear all the BS excuses when they do decide to come. 'We always wanted to get to Australia as fast as we could' or 'Our Australian fans are really important to us'. I seem to remember them not bringing Elevation here cos they couldn't afford it.
We might get an announcement this month but i'm not holdin out any hope

For the band themselves, not including logistics in the background, it would only take a maximum of 2 weeks to cover Australia and NZ as they would only play 2-3 cities in total based on the populations of the two countries.

From a personal point of view I really hope the shelve JT after South America and then hit Australia and NZ with the Experience and Innocence tour.

If the demand for NZ & Australia is there, I don't why it's not included. After all they extended the current tour due to 'overwhelming demand'.

Whilst livenation call the shots fans outside of the two big main markets will continue to get the sh**ty end of the stick.

They don't care, it is all about money - u2 are their commodity when it comes to touring and they'll play where the most easy money can be made.

U2 are in a no win situaton.

Extend the tour to NZ & Australia & delay SOE further. Or don't extend the tour & residents there will be disappointed.

But they wouldn't be as disappointed if they got to hear SOE.

It's been 7 years since U2 toured down under.

3 years since Songs of Innocence was released.

Perspective. ;)

Well I think that a leg of the E&I tour here in NZ is more of a possibility now that they are in danger of returning to the well once to often by touring the northern hemisphere so soon.

oh yeah, i forgot about that. Live nation would be calling a lot of shots

anyone else think u2 are just trying to churn out different tours to fulfil their live nation contract?
don't they have a 5 tour deal or something? going back to 360?
since 2015 we've had I&E, Joshua Tree and potentially an Experience tour in 2018.
it reminds me of when U218 singles came out, they had a 3 'greatest hits album' deal or clause with their record company at the time. As soon as U218 came out they switched labels. Might have been island to mercury or universal or something. Or maybe i'm remembering it all wrong.
My point being that 3 different tours over the last couple of years (and next year) is very un U2.
