"The Light at Home has been mentioned by The Edge as one of the songs hes loving on the new album" - now I am anxious to hear this song!

I'm glad "You're the best thing about me" isn't the single.  and I'm glad it will be a more U2 sounding song.  Phew!

Single release day in September? Album release December 1st on World Aids Day?  I think it's true this time.

Pinch of salt. Edge liked unknown caller!

I agree,
Sounds like focus testing to me...

Make it. Release it. Stand by it. You're freaking U2!

A brand NEW single in September? Does that mean Little Things will still be played on the 3rd leg?

Does it make sense to release a single, without any promotion for months, while touring an entirely different album?

I wish they would play another new song (Best Thing About Me?) on USA September leg. No new songs will happen in Europe now. And they have a month of no concerts before the US September leg.

On HowToDismantle album, they also sought opinions from random people on the tracks, like studio janitors, pizza dudes etc.

How the heck does one get invited into a listening group? Look under 40? Wink at Guy Oseary? Don't they have security concerns about rabid fans crammed in a room with them?

Not much in U2 world made sense in 2017 anyway.

- touring a 30 year old album and delaying new material
- playing a new song (or not) dead last in the set
- and now allegedly releasing a new single while still playing JT30

1. they're doing the songs chronological for the most part, so that makes sense.
2. all eyes are on them touring their biggest album so yea it makes sense to capitalize on that.

1. I think a new song should be earlier in the set.
2. Their biggest album. Exactly. Your nostalgic average Joe most likely doesn't care about Little things that give you away or any other new song.

nah. who here wouldn't love to tell U2 to keep a particular song off the damn album. sometimes bands loose the plot bad and need someone from the outside <who clearly wont be Eno and Lanois or Lillywhite> to tell them to knock it off.
