Picking from the 9 original songs.  Of course I'd go Freedom for My People #1 overall otherwise.

1.AIWIY
2. God Part II.

(Both tracks in my personal top ten)

3. Desire (awesome track that even non-U2 fans love)

AIWIY is easy.  The others are harder.  I went with Heartland and Angel of Harlem.

I wanted to pick four: Desire, Hawkmoon 269, Angel of Harlem, and All I Want Is You. In the end, Angel of Harlem had to get bumped.

  • Can't fight for s---, but sure can take a beating
AIWIY- easily in my top 3 for the band across their entire catalogue
Heartland- song has grown on me over the years and i now listen to it a few times in a row when listening to the album
Love Rescue Me- I know a lot of people rag on this one, but i've always enjoyed it going back to my first listen of R&H.  Would love to hear the original version with Dylan doing more than mumbling that was intended to be released on the album.

  • Feel like trash...you make me feel clean
This one's tough.  I actually really love the original songs on this album.  I went with:

1) Heartland
2) Desire
3) Angel of Harlem

But, see I had All I Want is You played over the PA in the temple at the conclusion of my wedding ceremony (my wife loved it!).  I also really love HM269 and VDL, and I think When Love Comes to Town is great.

I just bought an original vinyl pressing of this at my local record store.  I would like to get the gatefold signed by the band when they come to KC in  Sept (long shot, I know).

Can't do this one.  They're all great songs.

Angel of Harlem is the best by FAR in my opinion. All I Want is You is good but a bit overrated. Desire is a great production.

For all the flak this album/era receives, there are some pretty great songs on it.  I chose Hawkmoon 269, Angel of Harlem and All I Want Is You, but quite like the other original studio tracks too.
