So far at least, Austra's Future Politics and Mastodon's Emperor of Sand are up front. I love Lorde's album as well.

If the rest of the upcoming Zola Jesus album's as good as the first two songs she's put out there, though, she'll be strolling off with AOTY.

Saw you mention Foster The People on your list; my feelings about that album are drastically different from week to week. This week, it's meh...last week, it was genius. Still better than their last one, though.

I came in with low expectations for FtP and I was really surprised. I've listened to it twice but I think I'm gonna spread to listens to keep it pretty fresh

I'll have to check out Zola Jesus

I've probably only gotten around to hearing like 5 albums from this year! There's still just so much from 2016 for me to catch up on...

2016 was a really great year musically.

2017 has been a bit lacklustre so far for me.

Knock a list up later....

I THINK i have only bought 2 albums released in 2017.

David Bowie Cracked Actor
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Lovely Creatures (Best of 1984 - 2014)

There are pretty much no "modern" music acts whom i feel worthy of investing in their music.

I have a new favourite album - Lust For Life by Lana Del Rey. An absolutely stunning album! Maybe even her best so far! Only downside (for me) are the tedious rent-a-rappers on a couple of tracks. Otherwise I think every song is a work of art and Lana has never sounded better.

I love Lorde's Melodrama too. I've also just got Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott's Crooked Calypso. I haven't played it yet but I'm sure I'll love it as they've never released anything I haven't liked. So far, anyway. :) I can't wait for Queens Of The Stone Age's new album, one of my favourite bands. Also (and don't laugh!) - Miley Cyrus! I've never bought a thing by her before but if her songs Malibu and Inspired are anything to go by regarding her forthcoming album I think I'll be buying it, as I love those songs! I think she's much better when she's doing more country style songs and she has a great voice.

Also I'm looking forward to Liam Gallagher's debut solo album. Everyone needs a bit of Liam Gallagher in their lives, lol. Also there's some band called U2 that I think may (maybe-possibly-perhaps) be releasing a new album by the end of the year (if we're lucky!) :D

Soulwax - From Deewee
The Flaming Lips - Oczy Mldy
Elbow - Litle Fictions
Mark Lanegan Band - Gargoyle
Karl Hyde - Fatherland

Not been that great a year so far to be honest, biggest disappointment was the new Depeche Mode album: uninspiring, generic stadium techno-rock.
