Not that I was in attendance but...

Does anyone else think it would've been fitting to have "A Sort of Homecoming" in the Dublin set list?

I was in attendance and yes they should have played it. Setlist last night was a crashing bore.

I think had there been a second night, it would definitely been played. But u2 only had one show and chose the song that was more energetic for the crowd

I take you point monopoly, but I figured if any crowd would dive into ASOH, it'd be Dublin.

To your point though, I think they might have played it at slane castle on the elevation tour show that wasn't filmed and heard it wasn't recognized that well.

I was there last night & we were gutted they didn't play it, after playing it last week I thought it was a certainty they'd play it

I think they should play it at every show on this tour. ESPECIALLY Dublin.

Bad is a far superior song - on record and live.

That is an interesting point....i tend to agree that bad is the better song, but i am of the view that the version on TUF is actually not the best by any stretch representation of it and there is an argument that ASOH on record is 'nailed' more....

I think I agree that Bad is the better song, but I very much agree with an tha, that on the album, ASOH is tighter than Bad, but doesn't flourish as well as Bad does live. Having said that, I'm still disapointed they chose not to play it.

I agree that "Bad" is a much better live song.

Yep, I was in Slane in 2001 when it was played and it didn't go do down very well.

I was also at Croke Park on Saturday and definitely wouldn't have swapped it for Bad.

Really? I thought the gig was great and there was great energy from the setlist.

But then again, I don't follow setlists nor do I usually go to more than one or two shows per tour (and, at that, always in Ireland). Perhaps I'd rather hear a well-honed setlist and show rather than a (relative) rarity that a lot of people don't know. It's all about the context of the show.

On a related note, sometimes I think people expect too much from Dublin shows, and forget that gigs in Ireland are full of casual fans too.

I don't think "Bad" is nearly as stellar on the UF album as it is live.
