What would it be? This person has never listened to u2 and doesn't know anything about them. You get to recommend one song.

Only one song...man, that's tough. I think it would depend on that person's personality. Possibly WOWY. Just because it's so different.

In God's Country.  I've always thought it to be the most U2 sounding song.

The Fly. Still sounds good today. For those of us around at the time, we can relate to how the new U2 would sound to a newcomer.

"With or Without You" is that iconic U2 song that showcases much of what makes them special and unique--the slow build, the ringing yet very subtle guitar, the note of unbridled yearning.  This song in itself is a U2 primer.

Depends on the person's age and the kind of music they like.

Obviously it depends on what kind of music they like.

There's no one size fits all answer.

Thinking about this thread for while, but couldn't find a proper answer. I've tried a lot songs on a friend of mine, who 'hates' U2, never 'really' passed. Velvet Dress and IGWSHA worked a little bit A sort of homecoming he likes, too.

But maybe No Line On The Horizon works, too. It has a poppy sound, but is definitly Rock.
