1. Passengers
2. The Unforgettable Fire
3. Zooropa
4. Pop
5. War
6. Boy
7. Achtung Baby
8. October
9. Rattle And Hum
10. No Line On The Horizon
11. How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb
12. Songs Of Innocence

It's hard for me to rank their albums separating them from each of their phases:

Boy
October
War
Under A Blood Red Sky

Unforgettable Fire
Captive Soundtrack
Joshua Tree
Rattle And Hum

Achtung Baby
Zooropa
Passengers
Pop

Million Dollar Hotel Soundtrack
All That You Can't Leave Behind
How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb
No Line On The Horizon

Songs Of Innocence
Songs Of Experience
Songs Of Ascent
1. Why is Passengers your #1?
2. Songs OF Ascent hasn't even been hinted at.

I know that I'm really going out on a limb here, but I bet that's his favorite album.

1. Achtung Baby (This is a toss-up with Joshua Tree, but I find myself listening to this album all the way through the most. Start to end, their strongest album for me).
2. The Joshua Tree (Lots of good memories for me here. First album I stole from my brothers and listened to all the way through. Lots of gems, and In God's Country is probably my favorite U2 song).
3. No Line on the Horizon (Fez, Magnificent, and Moment of Surrender are amazing songs. The rest of the album is great, too, with the possible exception of Stand Up Comedy and Get On Your Boots)
4. All That You Can't Leave Behind (Great example of U2 being able to reinvent themselves successfully and proving their versatility. Will always hold a special place in my heart as Elevation Tour was my first U2 show and first concert ever!)
5. The Unforgettable Fire (Just a bunch of classic songs on this album.)
6. Songs of Innocence (Really enjoyed the band's introspective look on this album. I think it gets more of a bad rap because of its release strategy and U2's inability to promote it b/c of Bono's accident, but I can still listen to it all the way through and really enjoy it.)

Above all, these top 6 are all albums I can listen to all the way through and not feel the urge to hit skip (yes, even on SUC and GOYB). I won't bother ranking U2's other albums because 7-13 all have great songs I love and all have songs that I would skip. Some more than others, but not in a way where I could separate them into a ranking.

Passengers = side proyect (U2 + Brian Eno)

Additional personnel: Pavarotti, Howie B., Craig Armstrong, Holi, Paul Barret, David Herbert, Des Broadbery and Holger Zschenderlein.

I'll have done this a few years ago but can't remember what order, this is how I feel now:

1. Achtung Baby
2. Joshua Tree
3. Boy
4. All That You Can't Leave Behind
5. The Unforgettable Fire
6. Pop
7. Zooropa
8. October
9. Songs of Innocence
10. War
11. No Line on the Horizon
12. Rattle and Hum
13. How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb

AB always my number 1. Been listening a lot again the past few weeks, it's perfect to me. The lyrics are the best Bono ever wrote.

1. ACHTUNG BABY (easy)
2. JOSHUA TREE (AB edges it out because it's a little more exciting and fun to listen to, that's all)

3. WAR (Raw, angry, sonically clean and crisp and with SBS and New Years Day - come on, how not to like)
4. NLOTH (aside from 2 or 3 tracks where they tried to be commercial, they went for something different and it mostly works. Modern UF)
5. R&H (hard not to put this up here with so many good tunes)
6. UF (I like the songs on UF a lot, but for whatever reason I am not compelled to play it as often as other albums)
7. Zooropa (First half of this album is brilliant but the second half drags it down in my estimation)
8. POP (not as big of a fan as most, but still enjoy for the most part)
9. ATYCLB (good songs, Beautiful Day has never been the quintessential U2 song for me though which is why I guess it doesn't get a higher ranking. Album overall feels a little weak)
10. HTDAAB (same sort of thing as ATYCLB - has some strong songs but overall, U2 being a bit too radio friendly and trying to wrap every song up in a nice bow)
11. SOI (every song is fine, but no song is great. EBW comes the closest)
12 & 13. Boy and October (I can never really separate these two. Both are good for their time but I'm not that interested)

Can't believe how low SOI is after 3 years of initially liking it and thinking it was a top 6 of 7...but that's where it falls I guess.
