About a 4.  That's probably being generous.

Not very. I'll buy it but out of the 3 songs released only The Little Things did anything for me. The last few albums had some highs but a lot more lows then they should had. I kinda expect the same of SOE.
I'm one from three as well, but it's the Blackout I like.

7. Think it will be interesting. I think it will be a kind of mix of ATYCLB and No Line. Don't know if that's a good thing. But we'll see. I'll listen to it a lot, that for sure!

Blackout is a great song. I like it. But it doesn't really reach a climax point so the song feels incomplete. Best thing is just average. They really should have stuck with one mix instead of four. Little things is just alright. I could do without the electronic beat. The second half is average post 2000 u2 sound. Love is all we have left is just another Dismantle sounding song- kinda like one step closer.

I'm at a 5. I'm interested in hearing summer of love and the lights of home

3. Not thinking about it at all. Theres about 5 albums coming out with actual release dates and tracklistings that i'm hyped over. maybe if they get off their lazy ar**s and actually officially confirm the release date/tracklist my needle will move.

I'm excited.  I like Best Thing and Little Things and Blackout.  I don't expect some masterpiece, but I think it will be a decent to solid album.

6. Above average but I'm fairly skeptical, especially after having lived with SOI for 3 years and realising that I don't rate it all that much. Seems like SOE will more than likely suffer the same inevitability. (so pessimistic, I know. Just being honest.) Still looking forward to it though, obvs.

7. Joey Ramone (which I actually did more than what seems typical) and SFS (which didn't move the needle for me) weren't predictors for how much I liked the back half of SOI, and a majority new-song sequence from I+E (Iris to UTEOTW) is one of my favorite setpieces of their touring history. So I do believe I can enjoy release cycles from U2 that have less than auspicious starts.

I don't seek out the Best Thing, but when I do listen I still end up humming it for a while. Similar feelings toward Blackout, interested in hearing how it sounds live. (Anyone who doubts it's a studio recording in the video, Bono draws the mike away from his mouth on the last word of "what we had is not coming back, Zack" and the volume remains stable.) I'm not super interested in hearing the studio version of Little Things, I don't think one can match what they've been able to do with it live in Europe, though I am curious to hear an album end with it. That the entire band is considered "featured" on XXX (and not just composers, since Bono vocals alone from a band-written song would trigger that) makes me optimistic that Kendrick sampled the drums, piano, and bass from American Soul as well, and that's a song I want to hear.
