I don't think there will be an opening act for E+I, there wasn't one for I+E!

There was for me. The Lumineers. Got a bit dull but pretty solid.

I appreciated not having an opener on I+E, but I also liked having a bit of crowd warm up on Joshua Tree tour (I had Lumineers, personally, and I think they did a fine job). I could do without an opener again next year, personally.

However, if they had to have one, I think it'd be an interesting counterpoint to the huge and refined sound of U2 to have something as simple and just-starting-out as Julien Baker. Her newest album is astounding.

I'd imagine there's no opener. Same as i+e, an evening with U2.

I agree, I don't think there will be one either.

I enjoyed an evening of U2 and nothing but U2 on the I&E tour.  Noel Gallagher was probably one of the best openers they've had in a long time though.  He'll be at every single UK show if he's not touring.

I've never seen him, but I'm sure he was a great support act. Just think it's tougher to fill stadiums than arenas without openers. Whether there's an opening act or not might depend on how much of a trek E+I ends up being in terms of # of dates.

There probably wont be..But if it was- I wished they didn't bring already established big acts like @  JT tour..I d prefer they gave exposure to some relatively unknown up n coming rock band , just like Greta Van Fleet..but agree with most of you there likely (wont) be one this time around..

Haim migth be an obvious choice with them supporting U2 on "lights of home", a bit like BB on " when love comes to town."
