This is ranked by how I truly personally receive the songs rather than a critical analysis. So if I think Blackout is technically a better song than Summer of Love, but I'm more excited when SoL comes up next, I rate SoL higher.

All time great songs!!!!
1 - Little Things
2 - Red Flag Day

Really great songs
3 - Love is Bigger
4 - Lights of Home
5 - Landlady
6 - Summer of Love
7 - Blackout

Almost great but flawed
8 - Get Out
9 - American Soul

Good
10 - Love is All
11 - You're the Best Thing
12 - Showman

Still working on it
13 - 13

Plenty of good songs on this one:

LIBTAIIW - my favorite off of the last few albums
Kygo Mix of Best Thing -  this one is great; the other mix(es) not so much
GOOYOW - itís a shame this one didnít get AirPlay.   It is worthy..
LIAWHL - They got out of the way on this one.   Good stuff.
Red Flag Day - takes me back to the awesomeness of Two Hearts
13 - I donít care for SFS but really like this one
Blackout - Edge has had some exceptional performances in his career and the dinosaur sounds he creates at the beginning of this is one of them.  Almost as good as the weeping effects he created in EBTTRT.    Perhaps a little too derivative of Invisible overall but still not bad.
Lights of Home -  I am liking this less as time goes on.   Was previously higher in the list.
American Soul -  this one had significant potential but their single-sickness deconstructed it.  Exceptional vocal performance in the verses.
Summer of Love - this one is worthy due to its context
Book of Your Heart - still growing on me
TLTTGYA -  this one is okay but I always skip it.
Lillywhite mix of Best Thing - I skip it
Landlady - throwaway
Showman - throwaway

It's still too early for me to do such a ranking because the album still needs to sink in further because I've been rather busy with work and other stuff this past winter which led to me not having too much time to listen to music. However, there is only one song from this album that I do not care much for and that is "13" because it brings back the tune of a song I absolutely adore, and thus, I feel that song is where it belongs, and not "13".

Love:

The Little Things That Give You Away (One of their best ever songs, late career classic)
Red Flag Day (Fantastic rock song, see above)
Summer of Love (Catchy, a bit weird, political in a good way)
13 (just beautiful)

Like a lot but have minor issues like a lyric that isn't very good:

The Showman (it's so much fun and sounds totally weird for them, but the birthday cake line is meh)
Love is All We Have Left (opening line isn't great, but it's a fantastic song)
Lights of Home (Strings) ("name" and "going" don't rhyme, and it's in the chorus)

Like but have some noticeable flaws or are a bit forgettable:

Get Out of Your Own Way (I like the flow of the verses a lot, chorus is meh, and it sounds too ATYCLB)
The Blackout (Name stuff is really distracting, especially as mine is one of them, but that bass riff, the guitar towards the end, so good)
Landlady (Good when it's on, but I never seek it out, not that memorable)
Love is Bigger Than Anything in its Way (I'm not bothered by the sentimentality, but the verses seem short, and it kind of sounds like he's running out of steam on the howls in the refrain)

sh**:

You're the Best Thing About Me (chorus is so cringe, and the Edge's bridge has some of the worst lyrics U2 have ever written)

Utter sh**:

American Soul (Was so excited that the part on XXX was gonna be on this album, but then they turned that awesome, soulful jam into a stupid, overblown c*** rock song with no structure, and then they released it as a f****** single and played it on television)

Love is All We Have Left (opening line isn't great, but it's a fantastic song)

Not nitpicking; we all have the right to our opinions, but I felt compelled to say that the opening two lines are wonderful to me. So warm. Along with the telescope part. I just wish that the chorus wasn't so repetitive (so many songs on this album have this flaw).

Also, AS is weird, it seems the most hated on the album. I hated it at first and grew to see good stuff in it. But it's like, if you get me in a room with people pointing out all its flaws, I'll concede. But if someone says they like it, I'll be like, yeah, I guess me too. Either way I can't seem to grow a spine about it. (Other hated songs that I love, I don't waver over).

I can't believe Love Is Bigger is so damn polarising. To me, it's a great song. Not up there with their greatest or anything, but it's an emotional surge of a song and it leads up to the closing of the album so well. I'm amazed that so many people either really like it or just do not at all. It seems more people seem to dislike it actually. So strange.

It's cheesy as hell.

I LOVE it.

But that's why. It's cheesy.

My faves from this album are the quieter, more reflective sounding tracks:

Little Things
There Is a Light
Summer of Love
Book of Your Heart
Love Is All We Have Left

The faster, heavier ones aren't bad but bug me in one way or another.
Red Flag Day
The Showman
American Soul
The Lights of Home
The Blackout

This one is also OK to me, but I feel it should have received a musical treatment more in line with the top, quiet/reflective group. If it sounded more like a Passengers track, I think I'd like it more.
Landlady

These three strike me as clunky and tritely sentimental. More of the platitudes that have become hallmarks of Bono's lyricism.
Get Out of Your Own Way
Love Is Bigger
Your the Best

I hear that opening line and immediately think of Spongebob.  It's the beeeeesstt daaayy evveeerrrr, beeesst daaayyyy eevvveeerrrrr.

AS just all sounds off to me for some reason.  Also, I loved that part in XXX so much, the bass, the drums, it was so smooth and cool, and I think it's a great lyric.  Putting it to the dumb overdone instrumentation we got on the final version was such a mistake, I think.

I think it takes some people, myself included, more time than others to recognize a classic.   Iím confident this is one of their best and it will ultimately go down as such.
