Which songs do you skip over on SOE?
« on: December 04, 2017, 08:04:00 AM »
I have listened to it numerous times and I can honestly say that there aren't any songs that I want to skip over. Anyone else feel the same?

I'm already starting to skip AS, Summer, Showman, and Landlady. Add Book into the main group and it's a really tight 10-song, 40-minute record. Going to listen to this for a while and see how it feels.

None. I go from start to finish, like all other U2 albums that I still listen to.

Skipping GOOYOW and American Soul.  Otherwise not really consistently skipping anything, but I'm still playing Lights of Home about 10x as much as everything else.

I also haven't exactly gotten into the last four "deluxe edition" tracks yet.  I must be the only fan who thinks "Ordinary Love" is quite ordinary.

Its standard U2 formula. I just think this formula was used particularly well.

I skip Best Thing, GOOYOW, AS.

Same with me. I think having heard them before doesn't make them as interesting as the other songs.

Not skipping any track (but I usually don't anyway).

Maybe the only track I'd skip is Best Thing, just because it's not the best choice after Lights of Home. I could skip Love Is Bigger too, just because it's the weaker song of the album for me, but it fits the album thematically, so I think it's wrong to skip this one.

I don't skip songs. It's not in my nature. But I find myself getting back to The Showman, Little Things, Landlady, 13; Book of Your Heart and then I want to go to Love Is All We Have Left and Lights of Home. Afterwards I try Summer of Love and Red Flag Day again, and then comes Showman again.

When I listen to the album (most of the times) I'll listen to the whole album. After the album is done, I do the ritual above stated, and then I skip basically Best Thing, GOOYOW  American Soul and Blackout and Love Is Bigger

I am not skipping anything... yet, but I will skip GOOYOW soon.  I think it is nauseating and kind of sounds like something Taylor Swift created with the wailing and all.

I skip Best Thing and American Soul.  I skip GOOYOW too sometimes even though I do like it.  It's just that it cuts off at the end if you're not going to listen to American Soul.  I like the Kendrick part, but I may make an edit where I just fade it out before then so the song can stand on its own.  I also have replaced the original Lights of Home with the string version.  Not skipping anything past that right now.  I love The Showman

I stopped listening to the 4 bonus tracks.
I like the way the album ends at 13.

Not skipping too much. Am a little sick of best thing but the entire album is very listenable. Starting to like Love is Bigger more now but not sold on 13. Whilst not skipping too much, I might just go straight to Little Things followed by Landlady (my 2 favs) whilst walking somewhere etc
