I heard Stern became more "mainstream" since he was on that America's Got Talent TV show.

A about an hour outside of Toronto and I don't listen to music radio anymore. So I don't know.

Gem of an interview. Stern appears to genuinely recognize U2's greatness and comes across as a true fan to me, regardless of what he may have joked about in the past. Many supposed anti U2ers secretly admire, and if Bono and Edge happened to walk by they'd likely hyperventilate with excitement 😂. Of course only to act cool later replying with crap comments somewhere in social mediaville.

I really liked this interview because, much like U2, Howard has been around so long that in his 'domain' he is not really scared to go anywhere with an interview.  That led to so many more probing question than your usual U2 interview and kept Bono from going too often to his usual rote answers.  (I've always found The Edge to give unique and insightful answers during interviews.)

Loved the talk about family relationships, band dynamics, and such.  Great interview.

I've listened to Stern for a long, long time. Tailed off quite a bit when Artie left.

I'll never forget when AB came out. Stern actually liked it but hated how most of the songs started with, as he put it, "unnecessary bullsh-t....just sing the song." He really like One and Loves is Blindness.

Here is my question. What did Stern say AFTER Bono and Edge left? I'd love to hear that post mortem. I don't think Fred is a big U2 fan, so I'd be curious if Stern asked Fred to chime in...I think Gary is a huge fan, btw...
