New Simple Minds Album
« on: January 27, 2018, 04:17:04 PM »
Ive heard four songs from their new album Walk Between Worlds, released 2nd Feb.Three amazing songs ,one so so ,sounds like early Simple Minds with a bit of up to date vibe and some orchestration ,hopefully it'll do well still one of the best live bands out there.

Caught them live last year on their acoustic tour at the Glasgow concert hall and they were still excellent. Looking forward to this new record 👍

Listened to it on the plane. Summer, Sense of Discovery, In Dreams and Dirty Old Town are pretty good.

I just listened to it tonight after reading about it. Quite good-especially the first 4- Magic Summer utopia and the Signal (?). Yet another benefit of visiting this forum. ✌️

Went to see them the other day in Manchester. They played the new album(Walk Between Worlds) in full.Opened the show with 4 early tunes. Then the new stuff and finished with the classic hits.Crowd were up for it.14th time that ive seen The Minds and id say it was in my top 5.
Album gets beter with every listen.Went into the charts at no4 which is the hights position for 23 years.Best record since Once Upon a Time for me.

I've been listening to it pretty consistently for 2 weeks. It's very good. I love SM's sound, especially on this album. No real weak songs. Barrowland is probably my least favourtie but eh, it's all quite listenable and gets better with repeats.

The band have some great momentum going - would love to see them get more recognition.
