Is EXIT gone for good?

Watching the performances from the last tour even with its dark history I feel like the band reclaimed the song.

Do you see it coming back at all or was the JT tour the last hurrah?

I'd say it's done.

If so then its disappointing. I waited 30years to hear Exit live (one of my favourite U2 songs and missed original JT tour). It was the highlight of JT 30 in Toronto for me- incredible performance and fantastic rendition. I like it when the band gets heavier- Exit, Acrobat, Please, The Fly, SBS, UTEOW, Mofo, (even LAPOE) etc really resonate for me when played live. It also contrasts well with the more upbeat/hopeful songs.

If it does go away, then at least I can have the memory of JT30.

I really struggle with the acronyms (!), but I agree with you that Exit was wonderful live and I loooove it too when they play heavier (The Fly, Until the end of the world, Bullet the blue sky, etc. ) and, of course, Acrobat !! It would be a dream to hear it live!

Exit was the highlight of the tour for me  8)

But it had its place and was relevant to the tour theme - JT.

I would love to see it again but I really do think the band will leave it.

And as Beneathadesertsky said - the band did reclaim it.

I don't see it coming back for one reason - there's too many songs from too many albums to fit into a show these days. Real estate in the set list is tough.

Sadly, I think it's done as well.  On the E&I tour, I think Streets and WOWY will be the only JT songs played; maybe OTH as well if the tour gets extended to Australia/NZ.

It would only come back if Bono could find a way to 'redeem' it.  He has said on a number of occasions that he went to some dark places during that song on The Joshua Tree 2017 Tour.  I would imagine he'd have to climb out of it's skin to play it again otherwise it would be too dark for him to fully attempt it.
(unless he does a snippet during a future tour).
