Lyric changes in E + I tour
« on: May 05, 2018, 01:04:48 PM »
Hi!

I noticed some songs where Bono changed the lyrics.

In New Years Day (in St. Louis) he changed "the newspapers say it's true" to "the newspaper reads it's true".

In Acrobat he sings "I'd break bread and wine if there was a talk I could believe in" instead of "church I could receive in". It is kind of hard to understand, so please correct me, if I'm wrong.

Did anyone notice other lines that are changed?

According to atu2 twitter, it was  "a cult I could believe in".
I thinks it had to do with the MacPhisto/darker take on the song

Oh yeah, that makes sense. Thank you!
The other shows he sang "church" again.
