He doesn't sound like Bono. But I get what they mean, he has a similair layer.

"Larry sounds like Bono" got me intrigued enough to listen to three songs sung by Larry.

I was not impressed.

You asked the question. Don’t be frustrated if you don’t like where it took you 😉

No big thing :)
I think my expectations were affected by "sounds like Bono" lol.

It can be hard for me to tell Edge from Bono sometimes, though. They are different but the falsetto is similar. Edge has gotten quite good at it. At this point he is on lead guitar and lead falsetto.

^I still haven't listened to Larry isolated but he "sounds like Bono" in that his backing vocals blend right in with Bono's main voice. Moment of Surrender, Love and Peace oe, etc whatever other songs he sings on.

Purists will argue B vs E has many differences: that Edge sounds smoother than Bono. Edge prob can hit a higher range. Bono has more raspy emotion, etc.

Yeah they are different, and yet sometimes I'm not sure who's singing.

E has better pitch, B has the power and emotion.

Larry is a good singer tbf.

I have no idea where people/person got he "sounds like Bono" from though....The Edge sounds similar to Bono alright

LMJ layers well with Bono in some instances. He can reinforce Bono. No one 'sounds like' Bono except Bono.

There's a long history in rock of lead vocalists singing like their front men. There are some REM songs where Mike Mills backing vocals and Michael Stipe's backing vocals are hard to distinguish.

Anyway, Bono was super at harmonizing the Ellen show Love is Bigger great performance, while Edge did main vocals on the final chorus/climax.

Might be the first time I heard Bono supporting & harmonizing!
