How bout Breathe on the E stage? Get rid of elevation. Then macphisto comes in after the song and starts going “he he he, Ive been breathing all these years...” then acrobat. I don’t like desire in the set.

Likewise, swap UTEOTW for the Fly. And when Bono says “I’m home” at the end of 13, the band can do ASOH.

I love Desire in the set....it portrays the start of their more 'excessive' years.  Bono has said (in the last year) that The Joshua Tree was the end of their innocence.  So Desire is part of the start of their experience.  In this portrayal they are poking fun at themselves.  Bono is known to not be a particularly major gambler (he sets his (low) limits and sticks to them) and with experience (and wisdom) he and the other three can kind of look back on those years tongue in cheek.  Desire fits really well into the set list IMHO.

Yep.  Not to mention, they're finally giving it a more "full band" approach.  It's not exactly the Zoo TV version, but it's the first time I've really enjoyed the song being in the setlist maybe since then.

Agreed.  Some songs cry out for an acoustic version, Desire is not one of them.  Which gives rise to another question/possible thread.  If U2 did an hour long MTV Unplugged, what would your setlist be?

1-hour Unplugged show. Let's treat that as one full hour of music, no commercials, and let's allow 5 minutes per song, so 12 songs. Here we go:

1. Desire
2. Angel Of Harlem
3. Stay
4. Stuck In A Moment
5. Every Breaking Wave
6. Your The Best Thing
7. Staring At The Sun
8. Slow Dancing
9. So Cruel
10. One
11. When Love Comes To Town
12. Vertigo
