Best: One
Worst: All Because of You

SilkenSkies, I was happy to see that you put Running to Stand Still as #1. That is very near the top for me, and I haven't really found anyone else that appreciates it for the great song it is.  Is it wrong to skip WTSHNN, ISHFWILF, WOWY and BTBS just to get to this song?

Best: Red Hill Mining Town (maybe with Bono's renewed vocal range we might get to finally hear this one live!)

Worst:  Red Light, The Refugee, Like A Song - they make War their worst album by far if Rattle and Hum is excluded from the equation.

Best- One
Worst- Peace on Earth (I know... it's subject is so earnest... but the lyrics are terrible, the flow is aweful, and the melody is instantly forgettable. Really, most of the 2nd half of ATYCLB is honerable mention here... Wild Honey? New York? When I Look at the World? Grace is not too bad.)

...and someone said the Beatles were the most over-rated band in history... REALLY? REALLY?!!! THE Beatles? Not a tribute band you saw? THE Beatles were over-rated?
So who is the greatest and most influential band ever? Primus? The Pixies? Sigur Rios?
How about COLDPLAY!!!

I actually like that "Stuck in a snoze fest" mentioned here, I think it's one of the few good songs on ATYCLB... Not brilliant, but a well done conventional ballad.

As for the rest:

Best song: maybe "The Unforgettable Fire" (it almost proves that God exists.... ALMOST  ;D)

Worst song: in the 80's and 90's: "When love comes to town". After that: it's somewhere either in ATYCLB or HTDAAB, but I'm not going to subject myself to the torture of re-listening to those albums to find which one sinks the lowest...  ;D

Pssh, it's not wrong, it's RIGHT! IMO, it's one of Bono's best lyrics, one of their most atmospheric songs, and a haunting epic of a tune. It seems to get lost by a lot of people amongst the giants on JT, but to me it's the centerpiece of the album and without it, it wouldn't be the same.

rock on Scooter!

Stand Still is a great song, but to skip the previous 4 songs just to get to it does seem somewhat wrong...

Wait, does not the bible somehere subtly say something to that effect - "Thou shall not skeepeth Streets..." or something, I seem to recall...
