Same Narrative; Different Set List
« on: September 11, 2018, 03:48:43 PM »
How could U2 have given us a similar narrative, but used different songs.  I've kept the new songs from SOE in the setlist...cause that's what they are promoting as well.  I tried not to include many JT songs but didn't leave them out entirely. I would love to see what you could come up with.

The Blackout
Lights Of Home (St. Peter's String Version)
I Will Follow, Mother (snippet) could be replaced by MOFO
All Because Of You MAGNIFICENT
Beautiful Day  A SORT OF HOMECOMING
The Ocean OCTOBER
Iris (Hold Me Close) LEMON
Cedarwood Road RUNNING TO STAND STILL OR BAD
Sunday Bloody Sunday SECONDS
Until The End Of The World RAISED BY WOLVES

Elevation DISCOTHEQUE
Vertigo, The Jean Genie (snippet) GOD PART II
Even Better Than The Real Thing THE FLY
The Hall Of Mirrors (snippet), Acrobat
You're The Best Thing About Me acoustic
Summer Of Love Bono & Edge - electric
Pride PLEASE
Get Out Of Your Own Way
New Year's Day RED FLAG DAY
Ode To Joy (snippet), City Of Blinding Lights  STREETS

Women Of The World (snippet), One  WALK ON
Love Is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way
13 (There Is A Light)

I see a lot of people suggesting different songs but their suggestions have no regard for the narrative. Your suggestions clearly do. Bravo.

I personally was happy with the set list but replacing ABOY with Magnificent (I suggested Breathe in another thread) got me excited.

I would also be excited by the Please and Walk On replacements.

I think "An Cat Dubh/Into the Heart" would fit the narrative very well.

You need to replace Gavin...this is honestly brilliant.
Same set basically in 4 nights is seriously blah.

I doubt Gavin is to blame! But yes, this is a dream set list to rotate.

Lemon might not fit narratively there - the tone is Experience. Maybe Tomorrow. Would find something other than October to replace The Ocean in that case. I have my doubts about Bono singing Lemon anymore, anyway.

I was thinking about when Bono said "Lemon" was the color of the his mom's dress.  I don't think it fits quite either...more musically than anything.  Tomorrow would be interesting.

The Gavin comment was a joke... but Gavin is sitting behind the Great Curtain and obviously has a heavy influence in the shows production.
