Whos left on your bucket list?
« on: October 08, 2018, 05:19:46 PM »
After seeing The The a few weeks ago, and Simple Minds next week, Im realizing that I may have seen every artist Ive ever wanted to. Tangerine Dream might be the last, and its debatable whether it could happen, or if it would count with the bands founder passing away a few years ago. (The remaining members are still doing some shows in Europe.)

Who have you not seen yet, but theoretically COULD? (No votes for Prince or Bowie in this one.)

Wow, The The. "This is your captain calling - with an urgent warning."

My life is different. Only thing on my bucket list concert-wise is to see U2 from GA.

As long as she's alive, Kate Bush will be #1. Apart from her...

Skinny Puppy
Muse
Filter
Willie Nelson
Joe Jackson
Emmylou Harris
I'd like to see some symphony performing an evening of (my fave living composer) Arvo Part's works

...that's probably it. Yeah, I'd love to see a reformed Smiths or Rose Chronicles, but the chances of either are zero.

I've seen so many amazing shows both big and small, but I would still like to see

Morrissey
Joss Stone
Buddy Guy
Depeche Mode
Glass Animals
Nick Waterhouse
Lana Del Ray
PJ Harvey (did see her open for U2, but would love to see her headline)

I hope you get better shows out of Guy and Harvey than I got. Won't see either one of them again.

That's disappointing to hear.

The night I saw Guy (maybe a year or two after SRV died), he seemed intent on proving to all in attendance that he could "play just like Stevie Ray" better than anyone alive. He did just that...but I saw SRV 3 times, and I wasn't there for that. I wanted raw, uncut Buddy; I got a tribute act instead.

The night I saw PJH, she was on the 1st leg of the To Bring You My Love tour. Her set was that album from beginning to end and then goodnight, Detroit. She did some of the older songs in the encore, but she had the wrong band for that. I actually WALKED OUT OF THE SHOW DURING 50 FOOT QUEENIE, which is still my 2nd fave PJH song. Didn't help that she got blown off the stage by opening act Tricky, who isn't exactly Mr. Onstage Excitement himself. I don't know what to tell you; from what I understand, she mixes up her sets pretty well now, which would make for a better concert. Might be worth taking a chance next time she comes to your town.
