Wow- you all already named A LOT of my favorites. I like the end of New York: "In the stillness of the evening, when the sun has had its day, I hear your voice, whispering, come away now..." I don't know what Bono intended those lines to mean, but to me those words are very spiritual.

(A Sort of Homecoming)
And you know it's time to go
Through the sleet and driving snow
Across the fields of mourning
Light in the distance
And you hunger for the time
Time to heal, desire, time
And your earth moves beneath
Your own dream landscape
The city walls are all pulled down
The dust, a smoke screen all around
See faces ploughed like fields that once
Gave no resistance
And we live by the side of the road
On the side of a hill
As the valley explode
Dislocated, suffocated
The land grows weary of it's own
And your heart beats so slow
Through the rain and fallen snow
Across the fields of mourning
Light's in the distance
Oh don't sorrow, no don't weep
For tonight, at last
I am coming home
I am coming home
Love the lyrics to A Sort of Homecoming
(Bad)
If I could through myself
Set your spirit free
I'd lead your heart away
See you break, break away
Into the light
And to the day
(Bullet the Blue Sky)
In the howling wind comes a stinging rain
See it driving nails
Into the souls on the tree of pain
From the firefly, a red orange glow
See the face of fear
Running scared in the valley below

Zooropa:
And I have no compass and I have no map
And I have no reasons, no reasons to get back
And I have no religion, and I don't know what's what
And I don't know the limit, the limit of what we got

After listening to Rattle & Hum yesterday, I was reminded again of the brilliant opening lines to God Part II
I don't believe the devil,
I don't believe his book,
But the truth is not the same
Without the lies he made up.
Amen to those words.
