Reading these posts have reminded me of so many favorite lyrics U2 has done over the years. You see, I have been a fan soooo long (that comes with old age!), that I can't even think of them all. It would just take too long so it is nice to read all of these.  Besides Stay which I have mentioned, Running to Stand Still is another gem from start to finish. Unfortunately, I did know someone with a heroin addiction (no, not me) and from the way it was described to me, the whole feel of that song from the lyrics to pace of the music sounds just like being in sort of a heroin haze.

"The last of the rock stars when hip-hop drove the big cars."

That line could easily be Bono's epitaph.

Exactly, that's a great line. It bugs me how many people hate the ending of Kite, but I think it's great.

Doesn't bother me either, actually I've always liked it.

I realized how many lines never bothered me, until someone mentioned they're bad. I guess it goes both ways. Sometimes I don't realize the beauty until someone else says "This song rocks!"

I'm guessing I don't need to include which song this was?  ;)

You're a piece of glass left there on the beach & who's gonna taste your saltwater kisses are both great from Wild Horses.

One of my favorite lines is suprise from One Tree Hill

"I'll see you again when the starts fall from the sky and the moon has turned red over One Tree Hill"

When ever I hear this line it makes me visulize a sunrise, I think it is poetry!

One of my other favorite lines is "Please stay a child somewhere in your heart"  I think this is great advice for everyone to remember when the stresses of adulthood kick in.

and I agree with "am I bugging you, I don't mean to bug you"

Everything from Gone.

Last Night On Earth lyrics are pretty awesome too. Heck everything from Pop is awesome, even Miami, yes, I like Miami.
