Blessed are the meek who scratch in the dirt
For they shall inherit what's left of the earth
Blessed are the kings who have left their thrones
They are blessed in this valley of dry bones

Just looking over these posts makes me want to add an entire page of lyrics, but I'm going to resist and just do the ones that stand out in my head at this very moment.  (try to, anyway)

Beneath the noise, below the din,
I hear your voice, it's whispering
In science and in medicine
I was a stranger, you took me in
--and from there on it just takes you away to the end of the song--*Miracle Drug*

 also like-

like a firework-, explooooud-----
roman candles, lights, they glooowww---from *promenade* (if those really are the lyrics)

and, of course,

It's desperation,
Dislocation,
Separation,
Condemnation,
Revelation,
In-Temptation,
Isolation-!-!-
Desolation-!-!-!-
(yaha, yada, yada, love the whole song)- *bad*

Plus a thousand other U2 lyrics that have already been mentioned or that I can't think of.

P.S. (love the "running to stand still" line said at the beginning)

P.S.S (and to embarrass myself even more, here are some lyrics I wrote,)

"And what for all of this time,-----how can you still be stranded here without--a--friend,
and Oh you look so divine,-----though your heart just won't seem--to--mend."
-----------------
"You look up to the sky,
see the mid-morning rose,
through the crimson twilight,
and the afternoon glow."

okay, embarrassment over-

U2's lyrics = *drool*

Those few lines you wrote were pretty good in my honest opinion.  :)

Wow! I really like that first set of lyrics you wrote, ProofThatThisIsReal.  :) Certainly not an embarrassment!

Vlad! Where'd the Trabant picture go?  ;)

Thanks for the compliment; I kind of improvised with the last line of the first one-  javascript:void(0);
Also, those lines would sound better if you knew the rhythm to how they would be sung--which is kind of hard to explain without writing down the music.  Hmm, I tried playing the rhythm on my guitar and it sounded all-rightttt, I guess...maybe I'll devise a counter-melody on my guitar, record them together, add vocals, piano, etc, form a band, and make awesome music until 2095; or maybe I'll just eat dinner.  Hmm, too many decisions.  Anyway, thanks again.

decided to revive this thread

Discotheque

You get confused, but you know it
Yeah, you hurt for it, work for it, love
You don't always show it - love.

The line I put in bold, I always sing it as.

You don't want a shower.  :D

some of my fave lines are some I mishear  :)

"I'm ready to shuffle, ready for the deal, ready to let go of the steering wheel"

Just a nice loose lyric  :)

Likewise with...

"I'm ready to duck, ready to dive, ready to say i'm glad to be alive"

Really gets you going.
