Airfare Watchdog site
« on: March 20, 2009, 02:22:47 PM »
Came across this site...

Sign up, scroll to the bottom where it lets you put in two airports and it will do the work and email you when airline fares change/seat sales happen etc.

For all of us needing to jump on planes to get to the concerts this should help some of you out ;)

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but when you're making your flight reservations online, or even by phone, the best time to do it is on Wednesday mornings at 12:01 am. The reason is that airlines release all of their unsold tickets from the previous week at that time.

Now that's the toppest tip I have heard in AGES. I'm a fairly heavy user of cheapie flight companies' websites. Nice! Thank you!

As far as the timezone, I'm guessing it's whatever timezone you're in, and depends on where your calling.

The other thing is that the online airfare sites are usually a ripoff. It's good to check them for the flights, but then always call them by phone to make the res.

We just got three roundtrip tix to Milwaukee for the Chicago show, at $219 each. We're flying from Cali with no stops, too. That's a reasonable price, I think....

And Milwaukee is just about 1.5 hour drive to Chicago.

Be careful though of downtown hotel parking in Chicago... the going rate seems to be about $40/night for your car to sleep there.  That's why mine is staying way back in Bismarck...  :D

Good tip. And that's why we're staying in Glennview. 23 mi from downtown Chicago. Parking for the concert will be no problem because we have the VIP package.

....you only live once.
