According to a tweet from the band, Manic Street Preachers will be performing on Sunday's (5 December) 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

This gets the biggest "WTH" for me in a month of WikiLeaks and World Cup controvesy.

But it's all right. I'll still love them.

Thank zeus that U2 doesnt plan to pull something like this.

Damn Briscoe, golden photos.. only just stumbled on this page.
I was so looking forward to seeing them on the 15th Syd, but actually had a flight to Boracay booked for my Mates wedding  ON THE SAME DAY.. Of all days.. so i sold the tick, missed out..  Would have definitely begged for a setlist and gotten it signed afterwards.. (very easy to do at Metro)..

New album is golden.. so uplifting, feel-good..

Yeah Metro gig was great. (I did prefer Adelaide and Melbourne... but that was more down to crowd than the band).

Was great to meet them afterwards. There's lots more shots on my site: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

So, uh, guys, I think I may now be among you in terms of Manics appreciation.

I'm listening to This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours and am enjoying it immensely. The first two tracks in particular. It all started this morning when I woke up with If You Tolerate ... replaying itself in my head. It was a sign.  :D

Cheers Briscoe. I always seem to discover bands after they come here, like U2 in '06.  :D

I'll check out Postcards later on.  :)

Try Everything Must Go and Send Away the Tigers - probably their most catchy stuff.

Took them 11 years to return to Australia in 2010, now they're back again after 3. Stoked. And we only have to wait 7 weeks between announcement and shows!

Was a fan of their bigger hits when I was younger (Design For Life, If You Tolerate This, Everything Must Go etc...), but only really appreciated how good they were when I bought Holy Bible.

Saw them live in Glasgow a few years ago and they were phenomenal.

Oh and I'll have a go at my top 10, no order:

1. Motorcycle Emptiness (I had a great live version my mate gave me years ago, I have no idea where from)
2. Yes
3. Ifwhiteamericatoldthetruthforonedayit'sworldwouldfallapart
4. Revol
5. Faster
6. 4st 7lb
7. A Design For Life
8. Everything Must Go
9. If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next
10. This Is Yesterday

As you can see it's heavy on Holy Bible tracks

I'm pretty sure I've got a top ten somewhere in this thread but I'll do it again and see how different it turns out...

I'm with you on the holy bible. Top 5 albums of all time for me that one.

1. Yes
2. Stay Beautiful
3. Roses in the Hospital
4. Faster
5. Me & Steven Hawking
6. 4st 7lbs
7. Motorcycle Emptiness
8. This is Yesterday
9. Little Baby Nothing
10. PCP

Staggeringly good band.

Nice. I should really buy more of their albums, can't see any topping Holy Bible though.

Did they not say they were retiring a few years ago? I'm sure the tour I saw them on was their last UK tour in 2010. Anyway glad that they're back.

Here's the setlist from when I saw them:

        Sleepflower
Your Love Alone Is Not Enough
        Motorcycle Emptiness
(It's Not War) Just the End of Love
        Jackie Collins Existential Question Time
        Roses in the Hospital
        Postcards From A Young Man
        This Is Yesterday
        Kevin Carter
        Some Kind Of Nothingness
        Autumnsong
        Hazelton Avenue
        Motown Junk
If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next
        Stay Beautiful
        (Acoustic)
You Stole the Sun From My Heart
        (Acoustic)
        Faster
        Empty Souls
        The Descent (Pages 1 & 2)
        Tsunami
        Ocean Spray
        You Love Us
        A Design for Life

A bit old, but it's always nice to see James do something unexpected.
