some of the tribe are in denial that they have a race to run a month from now... ::)

*runs from coach mullen*
c'mon jab....I promised I'd run with you --- we can do it!  :)
i know - and i appreciate it ;)
actually... running away from coach just now really gave me a good start :D

my biggest issue is getting back into the habit of being an early-riser (which is always a struggle).  if i get myself out of bed by 6 to run, then it gets done and i feel great all day.  if i don't get up (and i looove to tell myself i'll just run later in the day, but it never happens) then everything else i have to do takes over, and before i know it, the day's nearly gone and i'm too exhausted to even think about it...

well you have to do what works for you, but you also have to make yourself find the time.  Me - I could never run in the mornings - too much going on around here. I don't LIKE going after work or at night but I was making myself, even when the mister bailed on me (which happened a lot!)  But I'd start to get excited on my way - because I was "doing it"....getting it done even when I really didn't feel like it at all.  And afterward, so much relief and yes pride too that I didn't give in and stay home.

phew, thanks jab!!  ;)
at least now I can tell coach I "ran" not I will "run".  Two slow and easy miles today but felt great to be outside running again!  First steps to getting back into the workout routine.  Spring/summer-like weather conditions for the next couple of weeks should help too!

go tribe!!!
*summer's coming - eek, shorts and swimsuit season*  ::)

Yesterday I marked the 333 miles run since January 10th of this year.  I had to pause and smile for a moment before carrying on.

You guys are awesome!

Hello everyone!

It's always nice reading about everyone's progress and milestones. And of course a few U2 puns don't hurt either.  8)

I'm chugging along out here, trying to get my endurance back without injury before the 5k on 4/21.  While I'm not where I want to be yet with running, I'm so excited that I'm not waking up with any mysterious aches, pains, or strains.  4/21 will be the first 5k in a long time that I don't have to worry about the competitive spirit of Husband, who is still sidelined with his many leg issues, so this race will be all mine!

Hope everyone's having a restful weekend!

I am very glad I (forced myself to) got my run in early this morning - it was an absolutely beautiful day.....now turned extremely hot and muggy (YUCK). In fact, I won't be surprised if we get a thunderstorm soon:AND ITS MARCH.  We never get weather like this in March!!!  I broke my run up into 8 minute segments so as not to aggravate my knee.  Worked great - no pain at all and I got close to 3 miles done (note to self:  need new pedometer  :D)  Walked 5 minutes in between intervals and felt good the whole way.

Still working my way back up to three miles, where I left off before I hurt my knee in January.  Why is it the fitness gods mock us - work hard to get/stay in shape; get hurt; start all over again??   *sigh/groan*  ;D

Hi everyone!

Sorry, I haven't posted for a while.  My cat, Holly became very sick for a couple of days.  Some kind of flu.  But, she is doing so much better.  Back to normal for her age.

I have been staying active and trying to eat healthy.  Sometimes that is so hard!  So, I go for 80% of the time.  Less guilt...ha ha.  Blood sugar has been remaining normal and a had another polyp removed from the neither region area.  This one was benign, no cancer.  Thank goodness.

Hope all of you have a wonderful day!

I love that you are a cat lover!  Frankly, I love all animal lovers.  I think we lead fuller, happier lives because of our furry family members.   ;D  And hey, if you believe in karma, I think all the love we show our pets is paid back in full (from the pets and from life's many moments of good fortune).
