*writes down mistys advice*
This morning was week 2- day 2 (2 mile run/walk)
If I can keep it going, I should be starting the 10k training plan in mid-july.  Now, for consistency with cross training, and with food choices (Achilles heel ::) )

I'm starting July 1st  :D
instant accountability partner!  8)

and misty - HI!!  ;D  good luck with the long run tomorrow.  good to see you around here (but no worries about that LOA... you've had a pretty good excuse for that ;)  )

So, I took Monday and Tuesday off to recover from the "ride" Sunday. Then yesterday I had lots of social plans and drank lots of beer so no workout yesterday. And then I got 5 hours of sleep last night, so today I'm recovering from that.  Tomorrow I'll get back into it - I SWEAR!  Look for a workout post from me tomorrow.

Hi people! I'm new to this thread, but it looks like the place for me as I have to exercise a lot over this summer. It's for sumer gym class, and so far I'm doing poorly in it. I've only done one whole hour of exercising when I should have a lot more done by now. Tomorrow I'm going to step it up and work out for at least two hours, and then try to follow that plan for the rest of the month. My ideas of physical activity are cycling (although after a while my butt starts to hurt from the seat...), jumping on the trampoline, swimming <3, walking, and more recently, yoga. I've also gotten a membership at the local YMCA and am going to try out all their exercise machines tomorrow to decide what I like. It's a huge class to take, is summer gym, but I hope it gets me in a better shape. (I like the shape of humans, though, so I hope that doesn't change too much! :D ) Basically any activity that gets my heart rate in the target heart rate zone is needed for the class.

Well, felt like sharing, as I'm new to exercising and am interested in hearing what others are doing.

Yay, EC!  Lots of runners here, I'm a walker and that might be best for you starting out. It takes time but you probably have some now that school is out. I try to walk 2-4 miles a day. You should try some classes ar the Y, too. Have fun and welcome!

hi EC!  my first suggestion is to make a really awesome U2 playlist for your ipod... the rest should fall into place ;)

if 2 hours goes well - awesome!  if not, don't be afraid to build up to that over the course of a few weeks.  in the meantime, we'll be here for ya :)

woohoo EC - we're trying to get our girls more active this summer too so good for you.  Make sure to start slow - your 2 hour workout sounds scary to me.  You don't want to do too much all at once.

Summer bootcamp #1 yesterday and I can barely lift my arms over my head!  ::)   :D  *pushups are the devil's work*  And I have decided to add at least one day to my running plan where I run one minute, walk for 30 s, run etc because we did an obstacle course circuit and it kicked my butt!  Totally drained all my juice - and I run almost every day.

zooey we'll expect to hear from you soon - but don't beat yourself up.  Life happens (and beer is good once in a while too!) :D

I don't want to do 2 hours, but it's a class for school and I have to do a certain amount of hours a week to get graded...

Bouncing on the trampoline, one of my favorite pasttimes, is unfortunately out for summer gym, as my heart monitor doesn't work when I'm on it. Well, I can still go walking or something.

EC - is it a 2-hour day everyday?  or you're just behind already for this week?

jo - ouchie!  sounds like my last attempt at waterskiing a couple summers back... i need to get my strength training on track, cuz my upper body is esp weak...  way to keep at it with bootcamp, though!

week 2-day 3 for me today.  another 2-mile run/walk.  i'm 6 for 6 so far, getting up at the crack of dawn is getting easier, so yay for that!

zooey - how's it going today?  back on track? hmm?  don't mean to pressure or pry, it's just that coach was asking about it...  ;) ;D

I'm very behind for the week, but exercise each day for school is supposed to be one to two hours at the very least. I met with my teacher yesterday, who freaked me out by telling me I really need to get on top of things. So I'm trying.

yay for trying :)  and don't forget that stretching counts, too.  by the time i do a 30-minute run/walk circuit, and stretch, there's 45 minutes... dance to U2 for 15 minutes, and there's an hour!  ;)

zooey - dude!  just read the mt lemmon account (too dumb to figure out how to access fb notes from phone ::) finally remembered to check on desktop)  i showed that to coach, and he softened up a bit... but still wants to make sure you're not slacking past recovery time ;)

Hey I'm back :) I've been busy with random stuff and yesterday our power randomly went out  ??? so I haven't had a chance to post. My foot is getting better and I managed a 6 mile run on monday, and did 5 on tuesday and thursday. Wednesday was my ellipitcal workout and today I attempted to go 5 but only made it 3   >:( Probably cause it's 90-something degrees out and I had to run without much shade. Monday I'm headed off to a pediatrist to see what's really up with my foot, so hopefully it won't happen again. I'm also going to try and dedicate to posting here every day, maybe I'll be more motivated that way  :D

and hi EC  :D it's awesome that you're getting in shape, even if it's not super intense, it's really good that you're getting out there and exercizing!

Before I went on my run today, I had turned on the I know I'll go Crazy remix from the 360 and literally danced around my house for 15 minutes  :P

So true, I have my "Run U2" playlist on my ipod that I ran to today. I always include Bullet the Blue Sky and New Years DAy for those grueling runs. Oh, and Eye of the Tiger is a must for any exercize playlist  ;) (sorry for the long post)
