:D mine was in 82 or 83 the gloria video didnt like it at the time ,then in 85 i became a huge fan .

God, Part II:
Identical; it was "Gloria" in heavy rotation during the premiere year of MTV, though (unlike you) I absolutely adored it every time it came on.

soloyan:
I remember having to tape UF for a friend and not liking it...found it strange (I was 11 at the time).

Then came the Joshua Tree...

u2yooper:
The "Sunday, Bloody Sunday" video was in heavy rotation on MTV.  I think that's the first time I really noticed them.  I've said it before, but something about the fog, the fires, Bono waving that white flag around, marching in his boots-  WOW!  I was transfixed by that video.

Aburrow:
Pride (In the Name of Love) video on MTV in late 84, I remember Bono extinguishing the match and the camera rushing across the balcony into the recording studio. Loved the song, not a fan of the band yet.

Then Bono on "Do They Know It's Christmas?" Still not a fan.

Then their Live Aid performance. Still not a fan, but moved.  ::)

Then TJT.  ;D
