No Elevation  Cry

It's perfect for stadium shows

I was thinking the same thing.

The 2nd list has 7 songs from the NLOTH.  Ug.  Not good.

Ug?...this tour is for NLOTH, if you don't like it - don't go!

· Breathe
· No Line On The Horizon
· Get On Your Boots
· Magnificent
· Beautiful Day
· I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
· Drowning Man
· Angel Of Harlem
· Mysterious Ways
· In A Little While
· Unknown Caller
· The Unforgettable Fire
· City Of Blinding Lights
· Vertigo
· Crazy Tonight (remix)
· Sunday Bloody Sunday
· Pride (In The Name Of Love)
· MLK
· Walk On / All I Want Is You (snippet)
· Desmond Tutu speech
· Where The Streets Have No Name
· One
· Ultra Violet (Light My Way)
· With Or Without You
· Moment Of Surrender

I think the setlist looks great! There's no Elevation for one (ok song, but shouldn't be a staple), and I love to see how it has it's little sections. The opening act is all newer stuff, with a rocky feel to it, then ISHFWILF segues into the older, more mellow part of the setlist, and from Unforgettable onward, it's all energy. And the encore is something to be amazed. I just hope to god the Desmond Tutu speech doesn't interfere with Streets like Africa did on Vertigo. Honestely, it completely ruined the energy and emotional aspect of the song. I'm sure everyone else could agree. Now Elevations Streets is something else!  Smiley

What does it mean when its Crazy Tonight (remix)?  Is the band playing this live or is this like Popmart with the Lemon (Perfecto Mix)?

Cheers,

J

This was exactly my first thought when I read the set-list too. Are they 'playing' a remix?!

They also played the Perfecto Mix of EBTTRT a few days earlier.  I would prefer the Exit Wound remix of EBTTRT.  Grin

Oh, and I forgot to mention some huge news. In the article on the front page of U2.com, it says towards the bottom quote:  "Also noticed one or two familiar songs have been... reimagined." U2 might surprise us with a 'new' version of a common song, maybe like With or Without You and Running to Stand Still on ZooTV. I'm so excited along with all the rest of you great U2 fans!

Not sure this will be the final running order. They seem to be tweaking things around.

Go to u2.com and check the Countdown 2 video.

Edge is carrying a set-list/running order and if you pause at 15-16 seconds you can read a few blurry bits.

Looks like near the end is

MLK (followed by something else - maybe the speech)
Then Streets? (not too clear)

With or Without You
Walk On

--------

Another long titled scribble!

---------

Then it says Vertigo - though this is crossed through
Moment Of Surrender

Wonder if this was/is the proposed order for the opening night or just for rehersal (which then changed)?

Played out the set-list, thank you for the post!

Besides personal preferences that we all have, in all honesty, No Line On The Horizon, is not doing it for me!  Crossing my fingers to be proved wrong!

And surprisingly, Boots fits in nicely when the set-list is played out, and I was highly critical of Boots in the beginning!

Ps- Still think that New Years Day would be an epic song performed on this grand stage!

That has to be one of my favourite mixes (Exit Wound) - though I don't like many remixes!

Giving the set an overall B+ mainly due to UF and Ultraviolet.  This can be upgraded quickly with the addition of Bad for any of the following songs:
ISHFWIALF
Unknown Caller
Angel
Pride

Just my opinion, but BAD needs to make it's way into the set.

I am with you on Bad.  Very excited to see anything from TUF, love Drowning Man, but must hear BAD!!!   Grin

If that's the set, then I'm very, very happy. 'Breathe' would be a pretty good opener, and lots of stuff early on and late on would be fantastic. No 'I Will Follow', 'Bad', 'Bullet the Blue Sky' and 'Elevation' disappointing, but obviously they can't play everything. Probably the most disappointed at the absence of 'Elevation' out of those- I know 'Bad' is by far the best song, but Elevation live is always incredible.
