I don't understand what all the "excitement" is over tonight's setlist.  Folks, this is basically the EXACT setlist from Barcelona #1, with the exception of Desire, Electrical Storm, and Party Girl.  Suppose you could include normal version of Crazy as well, but i'd prefer they play a different song instead of the same song twice.

Granted, Electrical Storm sounded great and I'm happy to see them play it, but for a band of U2 stature, tenure, and back catalog, throwing in UTEOTW, Last Night On Earth, Exit, Dirty Day, Gone, etc etc would have a) rocked the show more and taken it from the "softer" side and b) really showed that Edge was being totally honest when he said they'd shake things up more this tour.  Changing approx. 13% of the previous nights setlist is encouraging, but they could and probably should do more.

It is early in the tour, so I'll reserve further judgement for later.  But again, I'm sure it was a stellar performance, but this unabashed excitement over 3 new songs (at least 2 acoustic) while the rest of the setlist remained unchanged (Crazy exception in encore notwithstanding) is rather interesting.

Are you joking?  For u2 to add 4 songs (yes, the orig version of Crazy is a different song) on night 2 is f*****g HUGE.  On last tour, 2 things changed, as I recall, the 2nd night they played Gloria and WOWY.  That's it.
I can be super critical of U2's set choices, but I really find it ridiculous to complain about a static set list this early in the tour...especially when they had 4 tour premiers and 2 of those had never been played before.

I reserve the right to change my mind before Chicago, but for now, I'm pretty hopeful.

Remind me never to see U2 on opening night.  I am sure we are all more excited than ever for our upcoming shows.  FORUM POWER!!!   Cheesy

The show won't get its identity until about half way through the first leg.  As you can see with both versions of Crazy being played, they're still testing the waters on what's working and what's not.   I hope they keep this setlist up, it only seems to getting better as the tour goes on and maybe they'll bring out more rare songs.

Exactly.  I wouldn't want a tour opener (or other early shows) to be my only shows on a tour, but they're almost always interesting.  The mistakes are often the best parts.  If they're making the same mistakes every night, then it's a problem.  The first couple of nights, it always happens.  They had problems with 40 at the 2nd Vertigo show.....if Bono hadn't pointed it out, I might not have noticed (it's a rock show, not opera), but I still remember fondly...what I disliked was the less than spectacular crowd on night 2, a problem that plagued the vertigo tour, IMO....but i'll always have Miami, Houston and Chicago 4....4 shows where the fifth member of U2 gave 110%.

Changing four songs is not that monumental.  There are bands out there (The Black Crowes come to mind) who when they play the same city two nights in a row, the set lists are completely different except for a few songs.  A lot of fans will attend both shows simply because the two shows wont resemble each other in the least.  I will grant you it is more difficult for u2 to pull that off because they have so much technology tied into it.  But until I hear a few songs from Pop/Zooropa, they havent shaken it up enough...though Party Girl was kinda neat.

As weak a song as I think Crazy Tonight is on the album...I gotta say the live remix looks like a hell of a lot of fun.  The bouncing heads had me cracking up.

This concert was MAGICAL . The Nou Camp was brought alive. Last time I was at the Nou Camo was 10 years ago when Manchester United dramatically clinched the Uefa Champions League  1-2 .. that night was as magical as tonight.

Was Desire a full blown rocker or did they do it acoustic?

50/50

Edge was on the accoustic but Adam and Larry joined with their instruments...

Lads, if someone knows about proper mp3s of GIG #2 please let me know!!!

The end of Beautiful Day was adorable...
