Hopefully I won't mention anything that might force me to say Passengers if I do meet Larry :P
So....
Public Transport...no
Cars.....no
Trains.....no
Jeremy Clarkson....no
Yellow Submarine.....no
Mentioning Edge is a Martian and that he arrived here on a spaceship.....no

God! This is hard!
I think I'll just avoid Larry (unless he can telepathically read my mind >.<)
 :P

I reckon he could! he is just too quiet not to be able too!

One of the most scariest forms of people are those "silent judges with look of daggers" :P

they are! *shudders at the thought*

Kinda like the Janitor all the time with J.D!

I have a friend like that but she does it with a smile - wait.......thats even scarier! Silent judges with look of daggers with smiles on their faces!

 :o :o :o

When you have a band where the singer doesn't really play an instrument, making an instrumental doesn't make sense, it basically excludes him, since his contribution would be nil to none.

I disagree. Bono plays guitar, not as good as edge obviously, but he can play basic stuff or a little back up...Also it wouldn't have to be fully instrumental album, passengers wasn't.

I just love the idea of some great U2 chill music and Jam sessions thrown together for an album. When i say jam session I'm talking about those solos the edge does Live at the end of songs like exit and last night on earth. Mix it up with a few words from Bono you know......It Could be great if U2 decided to do something like that.

Can you name a song where Bono's guitar playing is as much of a contribution as the other guy's instruments?
Bono's instrument is his voice, not a guitar.

He can bust out on the harmonica, though--in fact, he did just that, without any vocal contributions, on Melissa Etheridge's "Royal Station 4/16"; and he played Shredder Guitar (whatever the hell that is) on Tom Jones' "Sugar Daddy", so don't dismiss Bono's talent with instrumentation too flippantly.

Did watch it, didn't impress me. I don't think he should do a solo guitar album.

Harmonica, yes, I forgot about that one, he doesn't use it as much now as he used to in early days.

Your Blue Room? I think it's beautiful, as do a lot of others. There are a few turkeys though, most notably the hideous Elvis Ate America. I don't know if anyone likes that song.

I like Elvis Ate America. Its a late highlight in an otherwise average second half to the album. But I'm a fan of Tom Waits which is who I think this song most closely resembles.

"Elvis!"

..."white trash"

"Elvis"

...etc

Can't go wrong. Love it.

That is a great part! Love it! The song itself is one of my favorites, but to have Adam's voice at the end is a rare treat.  ::)

"Always forever........"  for some strange reason has always appealed to me from that record.  As for B's instrumental ability he was (is) taking piano lessons and from what I heard it really inspired him so perhaps we shall hear / see some influences of that in the not too distant future........

"Always Forever Now" rocks.  One of the best songs on Passengers.
