Running, you and your family are in my prayers.

My mom is doing very well.  She's decided to have the surgery (which will probably be in the next 2-3 weeks) and hopes to be up and about for Christmas, which I'll be hosting this year.

Thank you all for your continued support and concern. Kiss

El,

Great news. Congratulations to you on your diplomacy, and to your Mom on her bravery and tenacity.  There is always hope in the morning light, and I hope that 2010 provides you with comfort and renewal. Cheers and regard to the many other warm people that post so many thoughtful messages here.

El,

I'm in awe of the courage it must take your mother to face surgery.  I hope it goes well, and that you can enjoy a peaceful holiday with her.  I will be thinking of her and of you, too.  Please let us know how it goes.

El, I hope that the surgery can help your mother, she seems very brave, and I know you've inherited some of her courage which will help you through this. I also hope you can enjoy your holiday together, she'll remain in my thoughts.

Where I 1st Saw Them

« Reply #1674 on: November 19, 2009, 05:04:55 PM »

I have a prayer request tonight.
My bosses son just turned four years old. He has a rare lung cancer and is
having difficult chemo therapy. He has lost his hair and he is lethargic lately,
very tired out, not like a healthy four year old should be, his Dad said he doesnt
move on the coach, very still or sleeps.

Tomorrow (Friday morning) he is at Albany Medical Centers Cancer treatment
and getting another dose. Please say a little prayer that he gets cured soon.
Thanks.

Ocean, I'll pray for your boss's son.  It so heartwrenching to see someone so small suffering such a terrible affliction.

Uplate, you haven't posted here, but my thoughts and prayers are with you and your mom.  Kiss

Greetings Ocean,

I'll pray for your boss' son, and I hope that the little gaffer has a rapid and positive recovery. But while I'm at it, I would encourage all of those visiting this board to consider registering to become a bone marrow donor.

While living in TO a few years ago, I discovered that a close friend from BC had died of cancer. And so I went down to the blood clinic, opted to forego a donation, and instead completed the screening process. It was instant and painless and perhaps some day, if I'm extremely lucky, I may even get to help save a life. Perhaps your colleagues at work could consider something similar, if appropriate.

In the meantime, I'll pray some more, and will also give thanks that I've discovered a place where some good people venture to help each other. Well done.

B.

Hi, i posted here about being on a jury.
We deliberated today and found the defendant guilty on all 17 counts against him.
He raped his daughter for many years, got her pregnant 6 times, she bore him a daughter and son(never told anyone who the real father was). Later, the defendant molested her daughter, who was also his granddaughter-daughter, the product of his incest. It was all so horrific for us on the jury to hear. The victims testified for the court, they had to tell us the details of these crimes. I can't imagine how hard that could be. Fortunately, the defense attorney did not try very hard to smear the victims, there was DNA evidence he was the father, so there was not much for him to do.
I hope the victims can have better lives now, that the perpetrator can no longer molest them, or any other girls.
