Yeah it`s a very catchy song given there is no such saying as 'blinder than something'. But anyway I love it too :D

To me it's James 1:22-25
Listening and doing

22Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does.

 ;D

I've always viewed it as being about Bono's Christian faith and realizing that it's the only thing that can save you from a life of disaster and fear. It's my favorite song on October. 8)

"'I Threw A Brick Through A Window' is a song about not liking yourself. It's seeing your reflection in the mirror and wanting to smash it. I don't know where that's coming from. I try not to major on self-loathing but it does creep in every so often. Guilt to me is a very useless emotion. You make a mistake, you try and rectify it, you apologize, and you get on." - Bono, U2 By U2 2006

This is a super good deep cut.  October is a very intimate u2 album and I like it very much.
