I'm really hoping they add at least one UK date. I go to see them alone and I don't think I would have the confidence of the ability (never mind the money) to go and see them in another country. Especially as I was left stranded in London when I went to see them in Wembley as the company I booked my hotel with basically robbed me and did book my room - I'd hate to have that sort of thing happen where I can't speak the language (my schoolgirl German is just too embarrassing to even consider).

Where is the evidence to suggest there will be no more Irish gigs Huh?
I agree it's less likely than the UK for example, but it's not impossible either.

This is the first U2 tour in many years where Europe is getting two legs of the tour,(1992/93 Zootv was the last time Europe got two tour legs) it's different this time than previous tours, and with a new album a strong possibility for next year means the fan demand will be there.

Have you heard about Dublins new Aviva Stadium : http://www.avivastadium.ie/Facts_Imagery.html
I think this is the best possibility for U2 playing Dublin in 2010.

The main reason for the realease of these dates and early on-sales is to gauge the demand and whether multiple shows in certain locations will be required, which may affect other posible dates. Logisitical issues are currently being worked out with regard to UK dates. Ideally, a northern/middle england location such as Manchester would've been preferred but at that time of year Old Trafford and City of Manchester stadiums are unavailable due to Man Utd and Man City football requirements. A Leeds date is still being mulled over. The one definite UK date to be added is a return to the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff where the tour DVD will be filmed. The band believe the acoustics and atmosphere generated in the Millennium Stadium are unrivalled.

If they are trying to guage demand then selling the tickets this far in advance and so soon after the last european shows is not a good indicator. I went to 6 shows on the european leg and met a lot of people who were doing the same, those people are now financially wiped out and cannot afford to buy tickets at this stage. Like me they have no option but to take their chances on getting tickets via other means later on. I'm sure there are a large percentage of fans who would normally be snapping up tickets in the pre sale who find themselves in this situation. Then there is the issue of having to re subscribe to U2.com regardless of how long you have left on your membership- more money! So, demand may well be high but if people are having to hold off on buying tickets while they scrape some money together then the impression the marketing machine will get is that sales are slow and demand is low, perhaps this might mean they don't put extra dates on. I think they could be shooting themselves in the foot with this.

I just noticed on the Tour page of U2.COM where the Europe 2010 dates are announced...there is this little statement that I have not found mentioned by anybody yet.....quite possibly because unless you take the time to read the whole thing you may miss it:

Additional dates and cities to be confirmed.

I have travelled a bit in Europe and 90% of people speak English. I lived in Germany for 2 years and never had to even try German beyond "auto kaput" Cheesy Had I the money, I'd follow them in Europe without question. Safe, fun and friendly! Go for it!

In response to some messages, apologies if the wrong impression was given about being 'definite' about certain things. In terms of Cardiff being a 'definite', this is with regard to the band and its management wanting to play there again and it being their fist choice for a tour DVD. At the start of this tour there were no concrete plans for where the main concert film was going to be set as they wanted to try out the new stage set up and find the best fit. Thus far, they view Cardiff has the highlight for them and were blown away by the stadium and experience with the new 360 set up. However, there may be a technical scheduling hitch with playing the stadium during that time period and whether this is overcome will come down to a combination of factors relating to ticket sales in the initial on-sales elsewhere, the knock-on effect on the scheduling of other UK date(s) and the feasibility of stadium access over a given period for concert filming. At present though, that is the 1st choice route but it is a fluid process and, for example, things can go from having 1, 2 or 3 UK dates to none depending on how things stack up. Presently, the same goes for Ireland as Croke Park is not a favoured destination for this leg.
