An excellent question; a pounding, rapid beat, lovely ubnusual lyrical delivery from Bono, and VERY sing-along parts ("WOH-OH-OH-OH-OH!") make a BRILLIANT song, one of the best on the album!

Title track is definitely one of my favourites, and when the first few Walmart clips were released, this was the one that stuck in my mind, even after listening to the other ten clips. Absolutely amazing, and already highly underrated in my opinion.

Best Lyric
"Time is irrelevant, not linear and she put her tongue in my ear ooohhhh! woahoahaoaoaoa"
I agree. I was just thinking about this last night. I was watching some program about space and time and it made me think about the this.

I think this thread is spot on. I mean you (few) rather vocal NLOTH haters - how can you not like this song? That a band like U2 that have been going for 3 decades can put out an album of the quality of NLOTH when they are all approaching 50 is amazing. I mean what do they have to do to get you to like them?

This song really takes off live. I love the small break they added before he starts singing. And the drums after the chorus really are powerful. I love them !!

I think a catalyst for the creation of this thread was the lack of praise it receives even though it is definitely a contender for best song on the album. It's certainly underrated.

I think this might be one of the top (blank) U2 songs of all time. Let me tell you why. Here we go. (i.e. “In Living Color” guy).
There’s good buildup in this song. There’s something that makes you jerk your head in this song. There’s that good little “ping…. ping…,” or whatever nervous, pingining sound The Edge does there. It's a bit of a slowed down "Lady With The Spinning Head" and "The Fly" bred with The UF. Great precursor. One of U2’s best songs IMHO. Really.

The only real problem with the song is that it is the first song and it gets your hopes up too high for the rest of the album.

Great great song. Everyones on top form in it. One of my favorites from this decade and lyrically the Bono I want to hear more from.

Imo along with Fez/Being Born and Moment of Surrender as the most impressive work on the album. It's so visceral and inspiring, a great way to start the album.
