Yer - I don't see it as single material. Brave but no.

If they do release  MOS as a single, it says that we aren't getting a new album anytime soon.

I heard the remix that has pushed the rumour that MoS will be a single.

Simply awful.

Let's just hope there aren't ten remixes on the single.

I am praying for b-sides on this single at least.

Put Kingdom of your Love at least!

Idea: Songs of Ascent as an EP (4-6 songs), with 4 remixes of NLOTH stuff too, for example one remix each of Breathe, MOS, Unknown Caller, and Stand Up Comedy.  What'chall think?

I'd personally love them to release MoS since it's my favourite song on the album. Breathe is a far safer bet to score a hit though. Maybe since none of the other songs (not even Magnificent) did very well they'll just say "f*** it" and release MoS. They've nothing to lose, and it would be a more interesting song to the average non-U2 fan. Breathe is a great track, but the bridge and chorus are typically U2 sounding, so I doubt it would win new fans. I think MoS could shock people, it's an amazing song. Plus they haven't released a ballad yet from this album which would be unusual for them.

Would be an awful decision for a single. Why another single?

No need!

But if you must, Unknown Caller is at least challenging and given the performance of other singles, expectations would be low. This would challenge the 'U2 release 'safe' singles' notion...

Anyone who received the limited edition 7" NLOTH box in the UK (including myself) should read the small-print:

"...hold(s) 4x7" singles from No Line..."

Release a single and it they allow it for around a 2 months or so to settle. Then a lead single which is released a month before the release of MoS. That will probably be in March when the tour might restart.

What happened to late 2009, or early 2010, now it seems like late 2010
