Welcome, Annie.  Thanks for sharing your story with us.  I've never belonged to a forum before either, but this one is very friendly and fairly easy to navigate.  i hope you enjoy it here.   Smiley

Oops.

That's okay Joe...I guess it does sound like Auntie Em...anyway, my real name is Ann, but people call me Annie too! Since I know Larry a bit, I thought I would put the "m" for Mullen after my name and.....my maiden name was Mullen!!! But I have been married for 27 years. It was interesting to say the least when I told Larry that my name used to be Ann Mullen!

yes Star is quite taken with Mr. Mullen!

Ann welcome to the forum, I like SG and Yooper was nervous about joining a forum, never have before and this is the only one I ever have.  The joy that came from this forum for me was the gift of friends that crossed over from a faceless post to standing in front of many of them this last summer and exchanging hugs in person at our first U2 show "together" now many of us are planning trips next summer.  A U2 show for me has now become more about the people I am blessed going with as much as the band that plays the tunes I love!

and it is fun to hear that Larry (kinda already guessed this about him) is just an average Joe in real life.

OTH...I loved your post! That is the great thing about a forum like this...people actually reach out, form friendships and meet in person! It's a family atmosphere, that's for sure. I think it would be wonderful to attend a concert and meet people from this forum. What city did you all meet in, if I may ask?

Ahh you meet in Chicago? I was at Chi2 and want to go to the summer one, but my parents would never let me meet up with people I met on the internet!

I totally understand and agree with your parents Heartland. Even though I know most of us are nice, your parents are right!
