I was arguing with a friend about something Bono utters in "Fortunate Son" right before he starts the harmonica at the end of the song.

It sounds to me like he says "take it away, Bono", which my friend argues is ridiculous - why would Bono say to himself to "take it away"?

I think Bono was just being funny.

Anyone know the answer to this?

Bono may well have been trying to be funny, but I still think it sounds ridiculous. Though I otherwise think it's a decent cover.
