Hi,

Some of you may know me from Zootopia as hjay, from Interference as edmontonhj or from the old ZooPC website at MSN Groups.

I have been a fan of U2 since 1984.  I have just come back from Vegas and the best times meeting a bunch of you at our Fan Gathering!
That was my 5th U2 show.  I have GA for Edmonton coming up in June 2010, concert #6!  And I will be going to Miami July 2010 too for show #7!

I am pretty excited...obnoxiously so.  LOL!  Grin

I can't believe I have never joined here before, but I have lurked, so I guess this is me coming out of the shadows...(and tall trees too)

I studied International relations at the University of Alberta focusing on development studies and the UN, with a globalization and governance certificate.  So add Nerdilicious to the list of names used to describe me.
I enjoy reading the Economist and I announce Hockey for the U of A Panda's hockey team.  I love NHL and NFL and have eclectic taste in music...from Depeche Mode to Guster, I love it all.

Nice to meet you,
Heather

Wish I was with them! I hope they were really good!  Oh to visit Dublin someday...One day I'll get there I know it!
Did these young violinists play any U2?  LOL!  I have a CD called called "Strung out on U2", by a String Quartet...it is amazing to hear U2 played that way.  Have any of you got it too?  I bet you do!

Nice to meet you too Daveyg and Boom Cha!  Thanks for the warm welcome.

Hi abloodredsky, good to hear from you!  I loved all my human rights courses....taugh me so much about the "grey area" surrounding the notion of human rights.  I was amazed by the literature over the debate on just "what is a human right".  I had no idea...I just thought is was "simple".  I learned nothing is simple.  In poli sci I learned that just defining "democracy" is in itself a huge undertaking. LOL!  The U of Alberta has an annual visiting Lectureship in human rights and last year Mary Robinson came to deliver her address, it was amazing!  http://www.uofaweb.ualberta.ca/humanrightslecture/

I volunteered with the U of A chapter of Amnesty Int'l and it was so rewarding but also heart breaking.  Studying International realtions was the most interesting and hardest thing I ever did.  I had no idea.  What year are you in?
I miss all the readings and in the same breath I don't miss ALL the readings. LOL!  Good luck to you in your studies!
