I'm against it mainly because it was a girl (Neil McCormick's sister specifically  ) who was the one who tried to get Edge to kick Bono out back so many years ago because he "couldn't sing". Okay, he's no Pavarotti, but he's Bono, and in my mind, the man can sing. But anyway, back to the moral of the story. The kicker? She was providing female back-up vocals for the show that night. It would ruin the vibe of the band, and if Edge had listened, would have been the end of U2 as we know it all-together. So while the thought is nice, looking back on the U2 historical record, I firmly oppose the idea. We need Bono! |

The adorable ladies of the fun 80's band Kid Creole and the Coconuts did the backing vocals for a lot of the great songs on the War album. I always loved that and thought U2 should have used the ladies again !!  |

Yeah, I wouldn't mind if they did some more collaborations with women, but it would drastically alter their sound if they added any as permanent members. Not a great idea at all.
