I'm currently looking at a copy of the JT Deluxe edition with the DVD (U2 Live In Paris).
Can anyone tell me what the Region encoding is on the DVD? Is it All-Region or what? Wondering if I get the UK version if it will play over here (Canada) for me?

No it wont. The US version is NTSC, the UK is PAL.
Same with UF - I considered buying it on Amazon UK but thought better of it.

Mac The Ripper it is  I will MAKE it region free. For the price I'm getting on it, I will accept a copy of the original that will play in my DVD player |

I own quite a few British DVDs, and they play fine over here. I think the player converts PAL to NTSC, and as long as you have hacked your player to be region free you should have no problems. The quality wont be quite as good as a region 1 DVD, but it will be perfectly watchable.

Before, VHS was very annoying when trying to play stuff from America. Not sure if it is converted on all DVD players.

I do know that I've had to change the country code on my Mac twice to watch "La Dolce Vita" but you're only allowed to do that 5 times (at least on a Mac) so bear that in mind.
