Shock. . . .Sad

Cry

NO ONE knows im actually on here, no one knows i like U2...so if i ever was sent a card my parents would have a WTF moment and id have to explain everything

.....

You don't have to participate in the exchange. I cannot condone doing something without your parent's permission, but maybe you could send people Holiday PMs?

or emails...
Only if you want to share your email address with others.

i dont mind doing that....

but what would i say in an email? Undecided

You can find or create a really nice e card-- Hallmark has several that are free at Hallmark.com

Same here--I'd love to, but my parents think band forums in general are weird, much less one where you give your name and address to people you met on it. Same thing with the Chicago area concert meetup. Parents would never allow it. Sad

That just means I'll have to work extra hard on PMing a lotta people!  Cheesy

Let me add that we cleared this with her Mom!

Strong Girl, we seem to have a few people here who may not be comfortable with giving out a home address. Can we have an option for e cards or something like that? Can you make that suggestion?

Mr.Z thought it was pretty weird the first time too but I've done it for 3 years now and never had a weird IRL incident.  In fact Mr.Z and I have met many online U2 fans IRL now and everyone seems very cool - I'd even consider myself good friends with some of them - on AND off the boards.

I don't know Zooey. I think he would be creeped out a little bit.  Roll Eyes

Mr Efdeat used to be a little afraid of the forum . . . what was I doing on there in my little secret U2 world, he wondered . . . but the Christmas Card Exchange has been a way for me to share the @U2 love with him and for the people that I have met on here (and then carried over into Facebook) to become real to him.  Not saying that anyone should go against their spouse or parents; it's just been my experience that the more of this I have shared with him - and he likes to bring in the mail, so he saw many of the cards! - the more comfortable he's become with it.  He's even read a few threads!  Smiley
