WOW! this is an amazing idea.  i had no idea. haha Cheesy  i will totally participate in this.  i couldn't imagine something cooler and more meaningful than sending out cards to people you've never met before.  there's something very U2-ish about it.

Hey shock, don't worry about it, your not the only one.

I think my husband might think it's really strange of me getting cards from people i met online. I may not do it either. Sad Sad

My family thinks its cool. They made jokes about it at first, but realize when they see the beautiful cards and
some people really go all out and creative some cool U2 themed cards or put neat pictures of U2 inside
that its all about U2 and nothing else. I love it because I put them all around the livingroom, now my boyfriend and
the kids look forward to it. Makes it more merrier too.

Mr Efdeat used to be a little afraid of the forum . . . what was I doing on there in my little secret U2 world, he wondered . . . but the Christmas Card Exchange has been a way for me to share the @U2 love with him and for the people that I have met on here (and then carried over into Facebook) to become real to him.  Not saying that anyone should go against their spouse or parents; it's just been my experience that the more of this I have shared with him - and he likes to bring in the mail, so he saw many of the cards! - the more comfortable he's become with it.  He's even read a few threads!  Smiley

Yeah, Mr.Z is always interested in what's going on on the boards when something exciting happens - "our" reactions to a new song or some newsworthy U2 event.  It's kinda cute.  Kiss

I am doing the exchange with Beli. Cheesy

Let me add that we cleared this with her Mom!

Strong Girl, we seem to have a few people here who may not be comfortable with giving out a home address. Can we have an option for e cards or something like that? Can you make that suggestion?

I am checking into it with the staff member who is doing it.

Thanks SG & Beli, I appreciate it. And I think a lot of the teens will too.

Unfortunately, there will be no e cards through e mail - just good, old fashioned snail mail. Our staffer says only 19 people will have your address and you will have the same 19 people. In all the time she has been doing this, there has never been a problem. She is the only one that has everyone's e mails and that is only in a special G mail account just for this. The fun is meant to be when you get cards from all over the world in your mailbox to open up. She will be posting all the details shortly. Sorry! But I can assure you , I had no problems and it was so much fun!

I have never had an issue either. It was worth a chance asking-- maybe members who are uncomfortable with the address sharing can just PM each other a nice holiday greeting?

I loved the cards and extras I got last year. I am really looking forard to it again!

Yes plenty of time, the nice part is that some people of course get them out early and
some late so you prob will get cards all threw the holidays which is nice.
and so some are a few late, its still wonderful to share in because we are all U2 related. Smiley
