Interesting. Could mean there is some weight behind this actually being released next spring before the tour starts again.

This doesn't mean very much. HMV has in the past listed items that did not have any type of release schedule. HMV also show U2 3D DVD as a pre-release for which there are no release plans. I also remember when they had PopMart DVD listed about 5 years before it ever came to fruition. It's not that HMV knew PopMart would be released - they just grasped at rumors that were going on for years. This is no different. Rumors are swirling about a Songs of Ascent release, so HMV slaps it in their listings to get attention. Doesn't mean a thing.

I agree its by no means a given, but to me, its a little more promising than what Bono tells us

Quickly, someone do up a review.
"I found the mix on the new album to be very quiet. In fact, I couldn't even hear the instrumentation. Or the singer. And it's AWFULLY short...."

"Here at Q, we have received an advance copy of Songs of Ascent, and all we can say is... Wow. The Edge, with his trademark chiming, atmospheric guitar creates incredible soundscapes. The tight rhythms of Larry Mullen, and the driving bass of Adam Clayton provide a spectacular foundation for front man Bono's charged-with-emotion vocals." *****(5/5)

Talk about textbook journalism :-))) most likely however. I'm glad you didn't use the word "reliable" in your "review" which will probably occur in eventual press offerings, along with "... innovative for ..." and "uplifting as expected".
