imedi,
Loved your post. I'm glad someone else follows "The Beautiful Game." I tried to relay this sentiment about how upset Larry is about the game, but some other lady got uptight about sports. Believe me, I'm staying away from Love Larry Thread. I'm new to the forum. I have met Larry in the past and I know him a bit. I had some delightful conversations with him...he is passionate about his football. Anyway, Bono was getting an award so I'm not sure he was in Paris. But you're right about Bono asking for the game to be re-played.

I wonder if this will create an unbearable atmosphere for next year's concert at Stade de France? Who will be more on edge? (no pun intended) The French audience or the U2 crew, knowing that Ireland was cheated out of a clean result.

Even though I am not Irish and do not particularly like their team more than France, it certainly was unfair.
I am very sorry for those of you who are Irish and/or fans of their team.
And yes it is indeed a "Beautiful Game!"
B-)

well Henri used hands right in front of the goal and then crossed it and the other french guy scored, Henri might have been offsides as well. After the game Henri admitted that it was a hand ball.

Thanks for your posts ABRS and Shock...I have met you before on a thread...you were both so sweet! Actually everyone has been so nice here...I haven't been here very long. I meant to post my original comment about Larry and soccer here instead of Larry Love Thread. No harm intended, I'm new to a forum...but some girl got her panties in a wad over there, of well...to each his own. I guess that will happen from time to time.
Everyone has been so friendly. Because I know Larry a bit, I can just imagine the words coming out of his mouth after this match...he might have been in Paris for the game.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful night!

Thanks Annie Apparently Henry then said that it WAS a hand ball but that "he wasn't the ref." I mean UGGGH. Shut up. Nothing he says counts anymore. He said nothing at the time and that was that.

Ok, I don't even follow soccer, and I think that's bogus.

Isn't this the same guy who is in the Gillette ads with Woods and Federer? I sure hope they pull his endorsement ASAP. He doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath with real champions anymore.

Australians are still bitter about being eliminated from the last World Cup thanks to a swan-diving Italian, so we have great sympathy for our Irish friends over this injustice. I doubt they'll get the game replayed but Henri should be rubbed out of the game for a number of months and fined a hefty percentage of his mega-salary for bringing the game into disrepute.
