On slightly different note, if U2 did song or snippet as tribute, which song should they do?  I think some of their songs are probably too dark for U2.
I'm thinking maybe temple of the dog song

If they were to do this, probably best if they picked one of Audioslave's hits, like "Be Yourself" or "I Am The Highway". Gotta say that the  opening lines of "Superunknown" would make an awesome addition to "Bad," though.

on topic: Lots of thoughts, still sorting through 'em. Might post 'em here once I do, or maybe link to a blog post I make.

I am the Highway is such a Bono song lol I always thought that.  It sound like it could be religious could be a about a relationship could be about someone lost.  It's a great song.  So Bono if your reading look up Audioslave I am the Highway.

I'm very surprised Bono didn't pay tribute to Chris, a fellow rocker, at both LA shows. Did he?

Breaking news about Ariana Grande conert explosions... Very heartbreaking. Bono will mention that surely. Ok, back to Chris.
on the Temple of The Dog album Wooden Jesus has lyrics "Coat hanger halos don't come cheap
From television shepherds with living room sheep," that line seemed so Bono to me too.

The thing is there are few smart and clever lyricist these days Bono and Chris were/are two of the best.

Sir Sir Very Little Larry had injured his wing during the fiasco with the seagull and since Larry still thinks he's Elvis, he wants to sing a special song for the little guy. He decided to sing

I'm at my piano listening to it. I got for the verses:

Bbm7 | Ab maj6 | Bbm7/Gb | Ebm |

For the last chord I use the second inversion over the Eb minor

Chorus:

Db maj |  Ab maj |  Ebm |  Ab maj  |

"Little Things...give you away...."

Again, I like the second inversion chord over Eb minor for voicing.

The "sometimes" part has a similar progression to the chorus but I am not hearing it resolve to The Ab major 7...so it's:

Db maj      |    Ab maj         |    Ebm        |       Ebm        |

Sometimes......

I'm working off a recording with distortion so I will work on it some more and see if I detect more subtle changes.

THANKS!

*runs downstairs to try this on the piano*

There's been at least one explosion in the arena in Manchester, England, where Ariana Grande is supposed to be performing tonight. Don't know yet if she was onstage at the time. Police are confirming fatalities. More forthcoming.

OK, the show was over and people were leaving..

This is the first U2 concert tour I've missed since "When Loves Comes to Town" way back in 1989 in Tokyo, where I lived for several years.

I just wasn't pumped to see the JT Tour like I have been pumped to see their other concerts, usually multiple times.

I love The Joshua Tree (though Achtung Baby and Zooropa are my fave) but I didn't want to pay a fortune and battle crowds for a greatest-hits concert (as great as those hits are).

Am I burned out on their old stuff? Not really.

Just wishing they would release a new, edgy album.

I won't miss seeing them when their new (hopefully edgy) material comes out.

I think that's a fair reason, actually - just go check out "Exit" on YouTube and you'll be set until the new album comes out

Opera.

With the exception of this one Stockhausen opera that I can't remember the name of, I always hated it. Could always appreciate the immense talents of people like Jose Carreras and Maria Callas, but couldn't get into the music. I thank (former Nightwish singer) Tarja Turunen for beginning to turn me around.
