Was there any standing at O2 available this morning? I secured Manchester standing last week but forgot about this 2nd presale until just now.  :-[ Doesn't seem to be anything left. Do you think this album purchaser code will be open again for Irish gigs?

I have thought that the "near death" incident that has been referenced to in articles about the album were either the Paris attacks or the Nice attack.  Bono was in both cities at the time, and while we've never heard that he was directly involved, being in the vicinity, even if having dinner, could rattle one's psyche.  I think that not mentioning the details of the event keeps the discussion off of direct questions about the attacks (e.g. Where were you? How close? etc...) and tangential questions about immigration, terror policy, etc.

Of course, the above is completely an opinion I derived without asking any members of the band, nor having better evidence that a hunch.
One thing for sure, Bono and the rest of the band were very close to the Paris and Nice attacks. U2 couldn't ignore those events. And in a way, the terror attacks bring them back to the Troubles in Ireland during their childhood, innocence and more...

"And if the terrors of the night
come creeping into your days
And the world comes, stealing children from your room
Guard your innocence"

Maybe he made some lifestyle changes for the positive that benefited his vocal chords. Has he given up smoking?  Has he cut down on alcohol intake? Proper rest?

That 's a great observation and it does not really matter if it is really so. That is the beauty of art after all. It is subjective. The artist creates a piece of art having something in mind... the viewer / listener / reader gives whatever interpretation makes sense to him / her.
That's so true! And Bono, as a lyricist, is very good at this. Take for example a song like "Gone", it could be about death, celebrity, marriage and divorce at the same time.

Did I read somewhere that someone already has their tickets?
I will be selling my GA tickets for Manchester but I guess I need to wait until I have the actual tickets.
So look out on the trading forum for details.

Any info / rumors on dates for Dublin and Belfast?

Belfast is supposed to be 31st October / 1st November. Was reported (in the Irish Sun, based on a dubious source) that the Dublin shows would be 23rd / 24th September, but that seems unlikely. Logistically it may not make sense to travel from Madrid, to Ireland, then onto Copenhagen. However, if the Belfast dates turn out to be accurate, then I'd expect Dublin shows to be scheduled after them - so, early November.

According to a "leak" Dublin will be Sept 23/24th.

If this is the case, they could squeeze in Belfast on the 26th and 27th, assuming they only do 2 shows in Dublin (which is likely).  That would give them one day to make it to Copenhagen (unless they only do 1 show in Belfast). The SSE in Belfast is open until Sept 29th (Shania Twain).

The Irish Sun (just like the UK equivalent) is a gutter tabloid. It is not a reliable source for most things, especially U2 concert dates, particularly when the source is a French fansite that has no more authority than anyone else. I could be proven wrong in time, but I personally doubt that the Irish shows will be shoehorned into any gaps in the pre-existing schedule. I would've thought that, once all presales are finished and general sales begin for the definite cities, then additional shows will be added depending on demand. Logistically it makes sense for Irish shows to happen close together, since they'll obviously happening on the same island in cities roughly 100 miles apart. That's why I think that they'll be added to the end of the existing schedule, which will probably be augmented with more shows in due course anyway.
